IMPORTANT: For the dev team

Did anybody saw the kickstarter boost the medieval sandbox rpg game 'Kingdom Come - Deliverance'
from developer Warhorse Studios https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1294225970/kingdom-come-deliverance
got thanks through Chris Roberts posting
https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/13577-Kickstarter-Kingdom-Come-Deliverance

Someone pointed Chris to a developer video from Warhorse studio on Youtube about Character customization which caught his attention as Warhorse Studios uses like Star Citizen the CryEngine3. Chris stated that he wants to work together with Warhorse on an exchange of technical training as it seems like Warhorse character customization was so advanced to fill the world with NPCs.

I was not following the technical discussion about ED and what graphic engine it uses but I strongly suggest to check out Warhorse Studios videos about creating a living Medieval world as their experience they are collecting right now might be useful later for the FPA expansion from ED to prevent a X Rebirth disaster with their awful FPA feature inside space stations.

I recommend to check out first the Kingdom Come Kickstarter page to get an idea about their project and then check out Chris response to them as I agree that independent developers should support each other by exchanging experiences in their process of tackling issues and possible solution ideas.

Kingdom Come has THE chance to become THE sandbox game standard for Medieval (and Fantasy down the road) games and is as ambitious as the SC or ED project.

Here's the channel of Warhorse Studios on Youtube:

Even all videos are worth watching do I suggest highly the so called 'Video Updates from #1-5, especially #2 'character customization' and #5 'living world'.

Kingdom Come does not have PayPal yet through limitations from KS but will set it up afterwards. Please support them and for the dev team please check out their videos as they might even have some additional pointers for the later FPA feature.

Looks like what will essentially a big budget version of Mount and Blade. Nothing wrong with that of course, I was one of the original backers for Mount and Blade, because it looked like it had potential and, as we now all know, that was true and it turned out to be a great game which I still play. Incidentally, Mount and Blade has a sequel coming (Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord).

Anyhow, it appears Warhorse have hit their KS target easily, so it would seem that it will happen, which is good of course because it looks pretty cool and very probably a bit more in-depth than Mount and Blade.

They certainly did hit their target but by such ambitions projects like ED or KC you can never have enough dough as long you feel that the guys which work at the game are truly passionate about it and have already quite a sophisticated presentation.
They stucked on around 800-820K pounds for quite a while until Chris Roberts stepped in and made his posting on his site and suddenly the race was back on.

The Video updates show a nice way how they handle customization of players and NPCs, including no-Hollywood style looks but people wit bad teeth and other issues. Even the video can just show so much in the short time could you see the power that tool alone has and I can understand that Chris programming team is quite intrigued by the potential.

Besides...I also agree with his statement that independent developers should stick together by exchanging experiences with using software and other production steps to create a pool, some social networking, to address issues and what others might be able to add like ED uses the forums for feedback and some ideas from us players but on a more professional, practical level.

I don't know in how far ED can profit from feedback with KC as I don't know what software they use. But I found this news too important to just let it pass. ED's main focus is now on smoothing out the core game but there are people which already in planning and design or the FPA expansion which I look so forward to. And in THAT department I am hoping that ED could profit aybe from practical experience from KC with AI routines for NPCs and animals as KC will have at that time more practical experience with behavior patterns of single individuals and with crowds, also reaction patterns of solo and pack animals which ED plans to come up with.
Also the experience they will collect with brawling and melee fighting could enrich ED later in its FPA expansion.

So I hope for some fruitful exchange with Warhorse Studios team. Maybe KC might even learn some things from Braben's favorite baby, procedural programming?
Both games serving different tastes but both are sandbox games and in that matter I hope ED does not misses the opportunity for some strategic teamwork.

Many happy hours in Mount & Blade. A great little game. Especially so because it was so easy to mod. Glad to see Taleworlds are still going strong too.
