Make 100% sure it is a cheater. I am dumbfounded about how many players don't know how pips in shields work. I am sure I could have been called a cheater yesterday after I took out plenty of ships with full pips to weapons. While I had full pips to shields and outlasted them every single time.
I am also pretty good with power distribution, and use 4 pips to shields to flip the script on people who try to ambush me 1v1. If I manage to survive to turn around it's usually because the person isn't properly distributing power and I almost always kill them.
That said however... I am seeing a lot of things indicative of cheating and I've only played ~10-15 matches.
Things I've seen so far:
Getting out-ran by a rank 13 Condor when in a rank 12 Condor equipped with efficiency boosters and engine focused distributors. When I say out ran, I mean he was about 20-30% faster than I was and left me in the dust very quickly. The possibility of a speed power-up is not possible here as our engagement started near the edge of the map with no power-ups nearby.
Collection of power-ups that have not regenerated yet. I'm completely certain the power-ups did not regenerate while the player was flying through them as the only graphical effect that occurred was the one emitted from the ship the power-up activates on, and not the breaking effect of picking up the powerup.
Multiplied weapons damage. Again, not a power-up thing. I only witnessed this with two players so far (both in the same match, likely winged with each other). They were using Plasma Repeaters and were able to kill me in under a second with four pips to shields and shield boost power-ups. I'd estimate maybe 2-4 projectile impacts had to take place before I popped. Needless to say they won the game by a landslide, and of course with zero deaths.
Needless to say I don't think I'm going to play CQC until something in the realm of working anti-cheat happens.
