General / Off-Topic Russia and the U.S. playing a dangerous game in Syria

ROME — Russia and the United States tentatively agreed Tuesday to resume talks on how to prevent conflicts between their warplanes in the skies over Syria, even as concerns mounted about the potential for a broader confrontation in the Middle East between the two powers.

After days of complaints from U.S. and NATO officials about a lack of cooperation and risky maneuvers by Russian warplanes, Russia’s Defense Ministry offered to hold another round of discussions with the Pentagon on avoiding a midair disaster or a hostile encounter involving their fighter jets, drones and other aircraft over Syria.

The tone expressed by both sides remained distrustful, however, as they labored to agree on when to meet and accused each other of blocking progress. The dispute has escalated in recent days as Russia has ramped up its bombing campaign in Syria, further congesting a war zone that was already crowded with a dizzying array of foreign forces.

Russian warplanes based in Syria have twice violated the airspace of neighboring Turkey, a NATO member, adding to concerns about the potential for an inadvertent collision or confrontation.

Good lord. Russia didn't even warn before shooting those missiles from the Caspian Sea. Are they out of their mind!?

It is an "international coalition" to go toward the third world war. I hope I'm wrong, but in a few months or a few years ... The planête goes wrong and is overwhelmed by overpopulation and over-consumption. Make a new start ?

Err.... Who said that they didn't tell the Americans?

My feeling is that others are making trouble, between the US and Russia. By this I mean, the press.

Turkey are just being selfish and exploiting the situation. Let us attack the Kurds and we will attack ISIS, is well out of order. The US and Russia are talking about what each is doing in the area, both sides may not be happy about what the other is doing, but then they have different agendas. At the same time, the US and Russia have no intentions of a conflict, between themselves, although, many in the area, would like to see just that.

I agree, I think the main risk is an accident that leads to something worse...

If the Republicans take power again in the US, the US policy could be less conciliating
......agreed, the good old boys get in to the Whitehouse, it is time to start digging out a new shelter, in the garden and buy shares in radiation detectors. The UK would make a good example; for Putin to give the US. Lets hope its all over by Xmas, as Russia won't be being polite, diplomatic, when it comes to IS and the ones opposing Assad, might as well just give up now and hope no ones going to round them up and murder them.

Haven't read the Russian side of the story regarding this, but i guess it tells something quite different. Who is lying? Can't believe either side. Both have their own agendas.
