As you guys know I am new to this topic and thread, but I have found it absolutely fascinating. I haven't got myself a UA yet, and I am dubious that getting one at this point will help. However, I was thinking in terms of the post above where two UAs were dropped in Merope; One faced the star, and another in a different direction. I would like to propose in reinforcement of the above posts, that they are perhaps acting as signal relays.
Ergo, the Merope connection is a hub of sorts to receive signals from the UAs in our 'bubble' of space for want of a better phrase. Then the signals get bounced out of Merope using a second UA in a direction that as yet we haven't figured out. Is it possible that in Merope [as I haven't been], there will be a planetary body for this to occur, but until the 1.5 update, we physically cannot see the body, as I know many pilots have looked all around the system. Hence, could it be that there is a large receiving/transmitting object on the planet surface, that receives the transmissions from all over 'human' space, and then sends them back out again in a direction that we don't yet know. Perhaps we are not hearing the outgoing signals at the moment because FD haven't 'released' the planet for us to find.
It could be that where the guy above dropped two UAs into Merope, one points at the star, and the other points at the 'gap in space' where the planet will appear once 1.5 is live? I realise this is all theory, but it would make for some understanding of the conflicting directions of the UAs in Merope. To me, it could be useful to drop two again, and see what they do; combining this with the strange galaxy map results; and perhaps even drop more than 2 to see what they do. They could given a little bit of time, orientate themselves so that they somehow work synergistically. All theory as I said, but it would make prudent sense to try the dropping of more than one UA in to the Merope system, see what they do, how they talk, and what they do to the galaxy map and system maps; just in case we are overlooking the idea that they need more than one to reach the next level of functionality.
Now I shall take a back seat, and re-press myself a new bacofoil lid!!
Cheers, The Hat
