OMG! You can make 20+Mil Cr per Hour, if you didn't realise.

Just in case people don't realise, you don't need any of that heat sink / silent running / chaff nonsense to smuggle in any ship (not tried a T9 personally).

Line up with the slot about 7km out, then hammer in max speed, then zero throttle as you go through the slot, and let the DC land you. Works EVERY TIME. Never been scanned, not once.

But also bear in mind that you can now get scanned at Outposts when sitting on the landing pad.

You need to enter the hanger to avoid the scans.

This was news to me until it happened twice

Hear hear - the two runs I've done from Sothis back to the bubble, running 4 or 5 simultaneous missions, are the closest I've felt to being Han Solo since I started. The epic distances involved, being hounded from star to star, watching the fuel run dangerously low as I skip out on scooping because of the fear of being caught, the final desperate run in towards the station trying to shake those potential interdictors off my tail, taking those high risks for the high rewards - epic stuff.

+1 from me too... have really enjoyed the last couple of nights, and it's more than made up for the disappointment with the changes to powerplay undermining.

I can kind of agree that logging in and out to refresh the missions page isn't really acceptable - but equally I don't get why there are so few missions in the BBs anyway - especially in busier systems, it seems crazy to me that systems/planets/stations with populations of billions would only have a small handful of missions available.

Surely only until it happened to you once ;-)

Didn't know that. Got into the habit of entering the hanger immediately on landing as it means you can take off faster.....so I guess I've luckily avoided the problem.

This will work fine .. except those rare cases when you come in too hot just when another (small) ship is launching and coming out too fast or on the wrong side and subsequently gets turned into a stain on the station wall by your Anaconda/T9.

Which will then get destroyed by the station a few seconds later.
It happens. Really.

How do you reach 'end game' in a game that has no real end game? Some people think owning an anaconda is end game but I've been flying one for over 6 months and have yet to run out of things to do.

I really hate this argument

Single player games must never end either because you can just keep resetting the game or killing re-spawning npc's.

Running out of new things to do was probably to risky for you to write, you just grind X in Y to the Z that differs to the W

Well further to my earlier post in this thread, where i said i didn't see 20m in that video in an hour, i would like to report my findings, as i just had to try it myself, just so i know what i am talking about.

I picked up my Asp, with 30+ly range unladen, 24ly laden, and a decent fuel scoop and headed to Sothis, yes the missions are available, i am Entrepreneur rank in trading, the largest paying missions i found were 6m and a 5m, i got a lot of missions around 1-1.2m as well. I moved between all the stations close to sothis and ceo, picking up the missions, i did log out/in a few times as well, i did complete a few missions between these stations getting between 300k-500k per mission, when my hold (80t) was almost full i set of to deliver the missions.

i started with a 79m balance, i finished with a 103m balance, so i made in total around 24m. I was logged on for around 4hrs doing this, so pretty much 6m per hr.
Similar to what i can earn trading in my Anaconda, but much, much more fun, also my fed rank increased to warrant officer, and i got allied with quite a few more stations.
So smuggling in my Asp, (fun) wins out over trading in my Conda (boring now by the way). So yes OP, thanks for the info, great stuff.
Also my trade rank increased from 88% to 98%, so almost a Tycoon now.

Tried this out of curiosity last night in an Asp loaded up with 48t. Had a lot of fun, it was the first time smuggling felt truly dangerous, getting interdicted by Clippers in that fat squishy tub was a blast.

Frontier, if you're reading, a suggestion: Tone down the frequency of "double agent" NPC spawns. Dramatically. When you've got 15 jumps to go before you can even start to unload and every single jump is spawning 2-4 NPC's saying crap like "I finally found you! You're a hard one to track down." It just becomes obnoxious spam. These counter-missions should be rarer anyways, it would make them more genuine and interesting.

I made a thread about these annoying messages, it was a fun thread, but in all seriousness, yes i got this too today, constant message spam from 2 guys, for over 4hrs, needs toning down a lot.

First run today = 45 Million Credits. With an Asp 82 Tons and Entrepreneur.
And boy was it a wild ride, i was constantly running away from Pirates and Cops trying to interdict me. This is way more fun than Trading or the infamous "Seeking Luxuries" Goldmine :p When i do another run i might even hit Tycoon wich will make even more Missions available!

No, not really. In the last few weeks I have tried mining for the first time and smuggling for the first time, all AFTER I owned a anaconda... which is apparently end game. So no, it isn't grind XYZ, I don't often do any grinding, I mostly bounty hunt with the occasional trade run, and now the odd bit of mining and smuggling.

Single player games must never end either because you can just keep resetting the game or killing re-spawning npc's.
In some cases this is actually true, as you have basically described the 'end game' of Diablo 3.

Amen to that ... best fun I've had in ages :D

A lot of phonies here. At last count today, there were 2349 ships that visited Sothis. I always wondered how Commanders made billions in Elite. It seems as though people exploit then complain after they made their credits. Remember the rares debates?

LOL: In one hour??

Thought I would give this a go. Three hours til i started work. That should be enough time yeah?? Yeah right!

Must have spent most of the time looking at the hyperspace sequence.
What is the game doing?

No hard drive light flickering or hardly any communication with the server.

I left for work after completing only 3 of the dozen missions i picked up. I also just pressed the powerbutton of my computer because the game was stuck in the hyperspace animation.

Because of this I can't see this being OTT way to make money. Was fun running from the NPCs chasing my ship and a vulture almost killed me.

Need a lot of time to put aside for this though.

FWIW, I do think the menu/mode switch thing to refresh the BB is pretty dubious but personally I've stayed in Open the entire time and I really don't think that waiting for and then accepting and doing these dangerous long range missions that are being offered can in any way be considered an exploit. That said ... I wouldn't be at all surprised if this got nerfed in tomorrow morning's server reboot.

Where is all this interdicting? I was only intercepted once and it was a sidewinder. He died promptly to four railguns.

Does the AI avoid heavily armed ships? Never go anywhere in open wtihout the proper weapons. :)
