Operation SNATCH

Operation Snatch..

Objective:- Intercept medical convoy and grab "ALL" cargo
When :- Saturday 4pm till 8pm BST
Where:- Merope
Reality:- Mobius

Why, Why not ?

Simple plan, Wing up, Find convoy of any kind (Probably medical)
Take out escorts first
Then hit the ship carrying XYZ and empty it !

Theory, maybe all of the cargo and a UA makes a difference

2nd objective, Drop a UA in the path of a Medical convoy...... Do they react ?

Once collected transport items to Canonn home system Varati for storage / potential later use.

I have been following this series of threads for ages, and you guys have been doing some awesome work, with the new discovery of the ship image being transmitted in the signal, and that news that things are about to get a lot more interesing i started thinking about the next update 1.5 "Ships" are the UA's looking for a particular ship type, or maybe one with a specific configuration, will 1.5 bring any different behaviour from the UA's when the new ships are introduced.

Maybe whatever the Intelligence behind the manufacture of the UA, simply doesnt think that any of the ships scanned so far poses a threat to them. maybe its time to take the UA out on every ship type in the game and see if there is any different behaviour in the image being sent that represents the ship scanned by the UA.

Just some random thoughts.

Indeed.
But I feel there is a way to let it talk a little more... ;)
I'm planning a "mindblowing" experiment for this evening, something we've already tried to do in the past, when we've been told we were close, but with some "interesting" addition... but it's too mad to talk about it now... the risk of being made fun of is too high :D

3) The UA seems to always point towards the Merope system
4) In the Merope system, the UA points straight at the core of the star.

Thankee kindly, sah. Can I suggest a stickied thread that contains the confirmed discoveries, links to the first posts, running history/synopsis. Surely this is at least as important as the current CGs thread. This would make it easier for newbies to become engaged in the mystery.

Haha, same here! Arriving at Merope in 10min for some stupid tests. Then back to the Bubble to get a custom ship for an insane test. :D

Well while being in normal space (not supercruise) around Merope there's a buzzing sound in the background that sounds like Morse code. Maybe someone has investigated that already, I didn't see it mentioned in the forums or reddit yet. No UA present, and I was close, just on the edge of taking on heat, but close enough to be inside the edge of a solar flare. That's not important, but it was really cool to experience, and surprisingly harmless. I posted a video listening to it a few pages back, but no matter how I record it its always easier to hear in person. And if its nothing and I'm just a crazy person burning out my eye sockets staring into Merope, let me know. I probably wont stop staring, but I'll stop ranting. Its a gorgeous star either way.

I'll get back to you about this later today, the idea is certainly interesting. :)

They do! The way NASA listens to them to figure out mass and make, and the Kepler mission, listening to stars. Its like they've been telling their stories to us all and we just now get to listen. Probably romanticizing it. Still. Science is beautiful.

As one of the MORSE men of this thread, I will go as well. I have an UA in hold as well, so I will take it to kiss the Flare ;)

Do you mean this buzzing-electro-morse-like noise? I've been wondering about that for a while. It seems to be present everywhere I've stopped to listen fully. I've had some funny looks while describing it.

Returning from a days exploring further afield, salvaged 4 large data survey cache's

Decided to drop in to d1-52 and see if i could grab another UA again. Didnt need to get there as i found one further out while heading back. 130 lyrs or so from merope.

Yep! That's it. There were some rumors on reddit a few months back that its morse for the system you are in. Similar to the morse that comes from NAV beacons (I haven't paid attention to hear that myself). That idea is too similar to what the UAs were doing once upon a time. So maybe the background morse has also changed?

EDIT: I just realized that if our NAV beacons are constantly tapping out the local star name in morse, that means the UAs were acting like our NAV beacons for a while.

Nav Beacons do more than just send the Star Name in morse: they also contain the location of any local stations...

Currently my ship isnt equiped to deal with this UA, other cargo now at risk. no AMFU.

3 options.
1. Let it expire in current location, 'Hind Nebula' aka 'T Tauri'

2. Risk other cargo and run it 20 jumps to a black market with cargo hatch already at 88%

3. Continue to wait on Main menu for a Pickup .. Anyone want to collect it? will donate it to a CMDR who wants to experiment some,...

Going for a smoke break, hopefully i have 3 options rather than 2 when i get back.

EDIT : Options still open for a pickup if someone wants a UA. let me know, else will expire in 20 mins or so. i'll do a few CQC matches before deciding its fate :/

LATER EDIT : option 1. Slow motion, UA pops and warps space all over my windscreen.
