Code blockading Sothis

shush.

His point was perfectly valid.

the "its elite : dangerous"- argument is silly and always was.

Thank you.

It irks me when you get people spouting things like, "what next 50 million for 1 ton" - complete and utter nonsense.
If that person does not enjoy the game, no one is forcing them to play it. Perhaps they need to move on to something more enjoyable.

After all, it does not take Albert Einstein to figure out, if it's not fun - don't do it.

I've started writing poetry to the Asps in local comms...I find it a far more effective way of blockading: "Oh Aspy Asp, oh Aspy aspy asp/ All day long I dream of you/ Dreamy Asps, my creamy Asps/ My oh my, so fine me'Asps/ Let me hug thee in mine Clipper Wings, sweet Aspy Asp, Asp, Asp". (if this doesn't get me a forum ban, nothing will :D )

I am happy to have the big rewards - but there is no justification for the large payday - take these 5 tonnes of tobacco 400ly to xxx for 5M credits???? How is that Justified in any way. At lease give me a 50% chance of hitting a wing of 4 Elite Anaconda along the way - that would make some CMDRs think twice.

This x 1000. Missions with high rewards like this should come with a challenge. The concept is great, but it needs teeth to justify it. A 400 LY long battle to deliver the cargo would be epic and would warrant the reward. I had a lot of fun just taking the missions that were available but can't see doing it long term because it will just become a long distance treadmill. But the long range missions are a step in the right direction.

And just to keep this on-topic... About CODE's blockade attempt. Yawn. I see the justification's already been posted and debunked. Not sure where Gluttonyfang is, seeing as how he's their (self appointed?) PR representative. I actually thought CODE was trying to clean up their act after the Hutton debacle. Timing is everything... Right after Hutton, Frontier was handing out "good citizenship" awards in the form of "Triple Elite" status and CODE got passed over because of their naughtiness. Seems like for a while CODE was doing everything they could to ditch the griefer tag and make the playground monitors think they were good kids. (EDIT: as pointed out by Mr. Spoonsi, CODE did get Triple Elite. I guess the PR drive worked. Congratulations, I guess?) Now, they're trying to do the same thing at Sothis, except there's no way they're going to be able to block the pads of a full size station, not to mention the station will actually shoot them down if they try to do anything more than play bumper cars. Has Gluttonyfang showed up yet? Is this actually a CODE gig, or just some dudes trying to cash in on CODE's "good" name?

Nevermind. On second thought, I don't really care.

We don't ban users for bad poetry. (sadly.... ;))

It is not a fallacy created by MMO's, it is human nature.
Look, I'll put it this way. If 1 person wants to stay in an Eagle and enjoy that and another wants to progress to bigger ships and enjoy that you have two options.
The first is a game where progression is a slow grind. The guy who wants the eagle isn't bothered by this, the guy who wants the Anaconda is.
The second option is that progression, although not instant, is a bit faster, both guys can now play the game the way they want, both are happy.

Then there's you, you don't want people to have that option. The changes in 1.4 made the game more fun and gave better opportunity to advance, if you want to sit in your Eagle I'm not stopping you. this game was geared towards players who were spending dozens of hours a week playing it during the kickstarter days. Now it's out, FD realise this can't compete with other more fun games or especially with peoples social and professional lives.

It's not human nature, it is an easily triggered response that provides a sense of satisfaction. You mistook my statement to mean progression isn't needed. I said bad progression isn't needed.

To Set a few of your points correct.

The Code have been given Triple Elite status.

Gluttonyfang is appointed by Code for PR.

And yes this is a Code gig.

Did you go to the Vogon school of poetry by any chance? ;)

Thanks for the update. ;)

You cared enough to write a long post, so really you do care.. Even if its just a little. Come on admit it, you want to be a Code member, its simple really just apply on the forum.

But to expand on how I think you do care, maybe this will help?

Are you a

"Could care less" American
or
"Couldn't care less" British

Because it does matter

FD love The Code

So really that's all that matters!

ships are being removed as fast as we can (who disregard the blockade notice), last night it was around 30 ships.

3665 Ships passed through Sothis space in the last 24 hours
As I've already posted, I've no problem at all with your blockade, but you make it sound like the most useless blockade in history! More than 30 ships probably killed themselves boosting into the docking bay wall on the way out! ;)

No, it is. MMO's did not 'invent it'. Your opinion of what is good progression is just slow grinding to me, you don't want to earn more credits, then don't. But don't take issue with other people.

Oh, so duplicative meanings never occur in titleing?

It's pretty clear it's from the pilot federation ranking and the lore around that, it's just a title. Regardless of where the title comes from, arguing game mechanics and balancing based on the title is pointless and has nothing to with it.
