Hardware & Technical New Graphics card help!

Ive not played ED for months, mainy because my computers a bit old (2011, it is in computer years!) so i have to put the graphical settings all on Low!

So, im going to buy a new iMac with a AMD Radeon R9 M395 with 2GB video memory inside!
Does anyone have this graphics card (or near the specs), to tell me if the settings can go on ULTRA! .?

I use a gtx770 and your card is about 20% better. I can run everything on high so you should be OK too.

Sorry missed the M part of your card. Try to get the X version that has 4gb if possible.

With 4gb you should be fine.
Also run on Windows 10 in Bootcamp!

Just to remind you, Mac version of the expansion pack Horizons has not been confirmed as far as I know. Reason being the OpenGL renderer compute. They actually might have to go with Vulkan API... Which would be good news in my book but it´s even more of a question mark than DX 12 is.

Do check this out, Horizons will NOT run on a Mac, it should run on a mac running Windows via Bootcamp. I'd say unless there are already a lot of Mac payes out there that ED might even never bother with a Mac version of Horizons

With an iMac you do not have access to ED Horizons ... for the moment

Thanks for your replys, i do use Bootcamp and use windows 90% of the time, i want a iMac because i want to write my own game and export to mac/iphone ..
Or id just get a PC, thanks for the concern though!
