CQC CQC voice comms not working (PC)

I can get voice comms to work in the main game but not in CQC.

In the lobby every commander shows a muted mic - as far as I can tell that is intentional.

I can see that voice channels to other cmdrs are open.

I can see that they are talking (the icon next to their name changes between a line and a waveform)

I can hear some of the "radio chatter" sound effects in CQC like the clicks and beeps when other players open their mic.

I have push-to-talk set up for my mic.

I've checked all the volume options and key bindings and they all seem to be correct.

I've checked firewalls and ports and tried to connect via UPNP and by forwarding a UDP port.

Are other people having this problem and is there anything else I should try?

Thanks!

I think it is in fact intentional. Judging from my last session, open comms would broadcast a lot of heavy swearing :D

It might e your end. Last night I had to Mute people . Because some Nitwit wanted to talk about his life and all I can hear was his voice.

I have been having this same problem. I have tried absolutely everything I can think of but I can't hear anyone else's voice comms in CQC. I can see the icons as if people are talking but I can't hear anything. Has anyone else managed to solve this problem?

I struggled with this a lot until I realized that the reality is that almost no one is mic'd in CQC. In DM, all players are muted regardless, but for TDM and if you ever get lucky enough to get into a CTF, if you have your CQC mic mute button set in controls, the answer is most likely a lack of other mic'd players. I have only found like 2-3 in all games combined.

Thanks for that info! It may be so, but I do often see the icons for voice chat change between a line and a waveform, which I thought meant someone was talking. I will have to find someone who can help me test it.

Yes, if you see waveform, it is a mic'd player. Try setting your mute to "push to turn off" so you know it is on when you test it. Best luck.
