Theres been a fair bit of news on horzions keep your eye on the newsletter section.
As far as I can remember if you have the horzions expansion you will get bb missions that take you down to diffrent planets and moons you will be able to fly above the surface in your ship looking for crashed ships and it will be more difficult to fly close to the surface in the larger ships. You will be able to launch smaller ships from the bigger ones which you or the AI can fly .
There will be mining on the surface in a few different types of buggy and there will also be some sort of crafting system. No out of ship first or third person stuff yet tho.

Mac will not get horizons. I feel sorry for Mac players of elite. From what I gather their graphics are horrible and there is issues running the game. PCs are the favoured child, xb1 is the second child you didn't want and Mac is the red headed step child that was part of the packaged deal. Btw, i am joking around for all of those Mods who wanted to get their panties in a twist over 'platformism'. Btw, what the heck is 'platformism'? Sounds like a cronic reaccuring disease. Im sorry i can't leave the house today, Billy. My platformism is flaring up.
Edit: i guess when ED comes to PS4 that will make them the foster child that you forced to take in after Aunt Edna passed and no one else was willing to take on the burden.

Apart from the fact the foster child wants to live with his real dad (no mans sky) so talks smack about you all the time

If someone has a Mac and is intent on playing games on it, why are they NOT running Bootcamp or some other multi-OS setup?
Yes, it will come for Xbox One but not 2015 ...that's the latest info we have.
You know, as a current XB1 player whose computer and XB1 are connected to the same 52" HDTV and surround sound system, I really would have appreciated some sort of warning on the purchase page.

WARNING! This version of the game is for second class citizens. If you want release dates, prompt updates, and you know, the full experience, please consider buying this on the PC instead.
That said, I wish people would get over the kickstarter donation nonsense. Charity is great until you expect special treatment in return. Then it's just douchebaggery, purely and plainly. Good job, donators. Here's your well-deserved pat on the back. Now move on or kindly admit your extreme, ugly, smelly, festering doucheocitis.
I really wish Frontier would open up some sort of platform transfer service, including a reduced price and some sort of save/progress transfer. I hate knowing I have been duped into buying the inferior XB1 version. It gives me all sorts of nasty feelings for a certain group of developers who would otherwise probably find me loving their eyeballs right out of their sockets. I mean, I could probably be convinced not to do that either, but seriously... this XB1 version is seeming more and more like rip-off with every passing day or ambiguous or missing information. Please let me switch, without paying double or throwing dozens and dozens of hours of my life into the crapper. I really think it's the least you could do. Or, you know, at least give me a reasonable release date. Or any release date. Something resembling concrete information, hope, or service would be nice.

Unfortunately, according to the PRE-ORDER page I was just at, this is PC ONLY!
There is no mention of Horizons coming to Xbox One or the Mac this year. I have no doubt it will eventually, but since I don't own a PC or the PC version of the game, this news doesn't have anything to do with us on the XB1 version... YET.
Good to know that they are working on stuff like this, but sadly, the PC is getting this way ahead of us.
Fdev is working on a xb1 version. Mac is not getting it; because of graphics processing reasons.
