Love your Condor? A big fan of the Eagle? What about that tank of a Sidewinder?

Let everyone know what you think of your ship of choice.

What good is the eagle?

Seriously, what good is it in CQC? Its only counter measure is heat sink! What good is that? I never over-heat anyways! Maybe someone here can explain a few things for me.
Does heat sink and silent running have any counter measure effect in CQC? It just seems the eagle is at a large disadvantage compared to the other two ships with SCB and chaff.
I really hope the add a couple more ships to CQC like the Viper and a Diamondback CQC edition. It would be nice to see a little more variation.
It would also be VERY nice to have locations like the CQC maps in the main game's REZ sites or something. Just an area with a bit more than some uniformly aligned rocks.

Ship sensors rely on heat signatures in the game, so when you deploy a heat sink you become harder to target and may even disappear from your enemy's sensors. This is why the Eagle can be extremely deadly.

Disclaimer: I haven't tried the Eagle because I'm having way too much fun in a Condor.

I've actually seen people do very well with the Eagle. The trick is to find a furball with 3-4 people in it, then use your beams to kill as many as you can before they kill you. Use heatsinks and just keep firing. You'll likely die often but I've seen pilots who are getting so many kills that it doesn't matter, they win anyway.

The stealth capabilities are also excellent for sneaking up on those furballs and lining up a shot without anyone paying attention to you... they're busy fighting the radar contacts they can see, and by the time you're lighting them up it's too late.

At the moment, it seems that unless you in a Condor you going to get your ass handed to you. Anytime I try and use a sidewinder or eagle I finish last. Anytime I use the awesome Condor I finish in the top 3.

Same here. The condor has EXCELLENT speed, and can be set up to boost almost constantly, with almost no noticeable impact on other systems. The Condor's rapid canon is EXTREMELY deadly. Yes, you have to get in close with it, but you can put all pips to shields/engine and you're unstoppable.

The dual cannon setup is godly for dominating noobs. But a good Condor pilot who knows how to do evasion and uses chaff strategically can be extremely difficult to hit and a shield-tanking Sidewinder can also be surprisingly hard to kill with them.

It's primary fire and secondary fire. Fire groups are set up in the right panel, but because we only get two weapons in CQC it's kind of pointless to mess with it. The only thing you need to be aware of, is when you unlock something like the Silent Running module, it won't work for your secondary fire keybind. It will only work with what ever you already have bound to Silent Running.

Doh. I've tried pressing "v". And while I fly I press all kinds of things - but usually not the secondary fire. I do press them more rapidly in CQC so maybe it's fat finger issue.

It's got to be better then a sidewinder is a very slow lumbering turtle sure it can take a beating but will quickly get destroyed since you have to maybe hide and make your move from cover and attack but out in the open every fighter will be gunning for you. I fly mostly an f63 condor using a thermal or heat beam weapon and rapid cannon combo. Waiting for an High Damage OC beam weapon for level 44 to install on an Eagle currently at level 37 to maybe fly it alternately with the f63 condor.

I love using the Condor. Its combination of speed and maneuverability usually trump power in my experience with CQC. I'm interested to see what the ISRF brings to the table.
