I've been on a gamepad the whole time and loved it, then windows 10 came along and borked my PS4 controller use with PC so I am painfully learning on a T flight HOTAS, it is going okay, much better than my attempt with the unwieldy X55.
Due to a lack of funds for a decent joystick or hotas, and a disdain for this game's mouse and keyboard controls, I'm using a Xbox 360 control for now. It doesn't have enough buttons to do everything I need, but it serves well enough.
Mouse and keyboard here. Not because of a lack of funds even; I just really like the control a mouse gives you.
Only the immersion factor makes me think about getting a Hotas now and again, but then I'd really have to learn how to play all over again. Especially since I have never used a joystick for any game before.

Pre 2010 Saitek X52 - the ones before Saitek quality control went downhill. Was contemplating a Warthog but no twist, so need pedals. Hopefully going HTC Vive before too long!
I use a Thrustmaster T-16000m and keyboard. I buy and tried a gametrix ecs throttle, but for me keyboard seems more versatile than a dedicated throttle.
Got an x52 but don't/can't use it since i play on a 55" 4k tv while sat in an x-rocker gaming chair. If you've ever seen these type of gaming chair, There's just nowhere thats feasible to mount a HOTAS. So its a wireless 360 controller for me, works well enough. Just wish ms would hurry up and release a PC version of the xb1 elite controller.
