No NPC SRV's - WTH?

Why? Why are you taking this game further away from a meaningful NPC experience, so Horizons will not have NPC driven SRV's, in other words potato world will be pretty damn dead and solo play will be very solo, not impressed.

Because after FD lie about the offline mode, and give you a empty solo mode, they have no interest in keep it running or updated

Imagine a far distance planet, you landing on it, first discovery, and then you see some stupid NPC go kart driving around..

No thanks.

Honestly, NPC SRVs or NPC skimmers are pretty much the same : pewpew AIs. Sure, I'd like to have NPC SRVs but in the end of the day, there are far more important things to consider when it comes to gameplay in horizons.

No, nothing to that effect...but gosh I hope they can do that much.

Really, really hopw so. Air combat close to the ground / station structures would be quite awesome.
This is a gameplay opportunity they should try not to miss :p

I understand the lack of SRV's NPC's. Making the AI drive in a credible/intelligent way over a very rough terrain is certainly quite a challenge.
I'd rather see it done later and well than early and broken...

I'm pretty sure we'll one day see all this in one form or another.

But just like NPC Wingmen, it's not ready yet. Not in the first incarnation of Horizons, where they'll have much more fundamental priorities to work on.
Once NPC Wingmen and Multi-Crew Ships (which IMHO will require an NPC option) become reality, my best guess is that those details will come along with that.

I'll join you on this, NPC Wingmen/Crewmen should be an amazing addition to the game, but surely not in the first batch of Horizons. Time will tell. But fingers crossed on that ;)

Give it time.

-We will most likely get SRV patrols sooner or later after Horizon is released.

-We will HOPEFULLY get different SRV's per ship manufacturer (Imperial Skimmer SRV...)

-We will hopefully get INFANTRY on the ground around bases as well.

I defo hope so, it seems a no brainer.... (but then so do NPC wing mates and escort missions in the core game, neither of which have shown any sign)

To lie is to give a false statement with deliberate intent. That's a bit strong in this case Commander, unless you have some inside information or were at the boardroom meetings when this decision to falsify information was made. Im willing to bet that you dont and werent though ;)

Im being facetious I know, sorry. It does seem funny to me how some people jump to the worst conclusions about other people though. It's like their feelings are hurt and they need to attack to feel better about it. I hope you feel better about the offline mode soon TM mate.

I don 't really see it a being a big thing, if I was at low level over a planet the first thing I would do if I was bounced would be the boost for the sky to get more room to manover.

And the NPC sends a text comms saying: Trololololo....

Just before it turns turtle and lies on the ground with no way back up.

Well other than the first time to see it for novelty sake this just saved me either time and or money for this "expansion" pack, no combat on planets(don't play on open), waste of my time.

No, nothing to that effect...but gosh I hope they can do that much.

If there are going to be no NPC ships for orbital/sub orbital combat flying through canyons then Horizons is really lining up to be an open player expansion with far less to offer the solo player, I do hope the lack of NPC SRV's does not mean a lack of NPC's other than those annoying skimmer things

Imagine some far distant planet, you landing on it near a populated base to refuel and buy supplies and there was NO sign of life, just a base with a few skimmer drones, nothing, no people, no NPC SRV's or NPC ships...

You know perfectly well why. Their target audience is pewpewers playing with their mates. They are not going to 'waste' resources for people playing solo if they do not have enough to do that ant pewpew and his mates. Notice no NPC wings, no NPC multicrew. There is a pattern.

All though I only play in OPEN and mostly with my Internet friends, I do agree with you. We need to have NPCs in the game, also in OPEN. With the information I can find this will come in the game and it is not because of pew pew crowd :) they didn't patch it in yet. The mechanic are simply not ready yet to be released and they need to make sure that it doesn't mess up other mechanics in the game before they release it.

I have a suspension that we will see some of it during season 2, as they will release the crews in our ships.

So lets wait and see.

I dont want a refuel station on a far distant planet..

However, i see your point in populated space.

I agree and I do not expect we will get one, far distant unpopulated space should be exactly that, perhaps a crashed wreck, maybe an abandoned base. It would be good to know how 'population' and/or distance from the bubble will impact what may be found on planets.

My point though is that if the 'populated' planets are devoid of NPC/AI ships and SRV's and reliant on the population being other players then Horizons is NOT an equal expansion for open and solo players and really this should be cleared up before it drops into a another false advertising debacle :)
