Would you buy Elite Ship Revell Model Kits?

Airfix please (British still, as far as I'm aware..), as long as they select a scale for them all so that they can be displayed alongside each other..

I've been making model aircraft for 35+ years...both plastic/static and Radio Control flyers.........Airfix? You jest, Sir......famous for poor fit. Revel is far superior. Tamiya better still........

i'd buy these... i'd buy all of these... twice. I would become one of those guys who dedicate a section of their basement for their trains, but instead of trains rolling around it would be Elite ships flying around. It would be awesome :D

Absolutely - it'd be great if it was Airfix, I have a soft-spot for the company. The faults in the injection moldings are part of the "fun" of putting it all together.

I looked into making a 3D model including the sheet with the parts not assembled so you have to clip them out, but was afraid of copyright infringement. In my spare time I was going to make all the Gutamaya ships for a project I'm working on.

(Can someone PLEASE let me know what it's called, i've forgotten the name, the plastic parts surrounding the model that you have to cut out.)

This is a much better option than purchasing a 3D printer to create my own models. I haven't built a model for quite some time but would jump at the chance to create a scale model of my Python.

Yes please, sign me up to the waiting list - although (realistically) I think the demand is unlikely to ever really justify the tooling costs etc (boo hoo!).

I've a soft spot* for plastic kits, with Tamiya being the best from my experience, so it would be fantastic is they were to make a kit or three!

Airfix were great, having a huge range, but sometimes less impressive for the quality of finish (and fit) alas - but when my application of paint was 'enthusiastic' rather than precise, that didn't matter too much!

* Confession-time: I have a Tamiya Tiger tank kit (a gift) still waiting for me to 'get round to it'... hmmm...

Pop your requests over on my poll. I'm looking into injection moulded kits of this.

As for scales. For most of the ships you would need to be looking in the range of 1:200 to 1:300. The ships in ED are huge. Your usual 1:72 for aircraft would be just madness. The clipper for instance would be nearly 5ft long at that scale.

As base metal prices have come back down to normal levels, i'd vote for pewter ones like Games Workshop figurines of old. Never been any good with glue...
