Was Knickerless Nickerby also one of yours then?
Yes and The Boy with the Cow Bubblegum Lick-on Sticker.
I'm often praised for my original plotlines. So the Gollancz novels are in good hands!

i'm looking forward to reading diso revolution and and hear the feel!
Depends very much on who wrote them. If it is one of the two contemporary British SF authors that I actually read, I will be tempted to buy them before reading a single review. But if they are unknowns (to me), I may wait a bit...Out of all the fiction.... who is going to rush to buy the gollancz novels?
The thing is Drew, John, Allen and Darren are more like family than the Gollancz writers. That isn't necessarily a good thing.
Strangely enough, I think the Gollancz titles are the most exciting thing that has happened for a while.
I am very interested to see what authors they have got involved, and will definitely be buying the books.
Conspiracy Theory
Look at the hits on the different Elite fiction book threads on this forum. Some of the most popular are those where the writers have had the least to do with the community (for personal reasons of their own). The Drew Dangerous Machine and Fantastic Forum Frolicks are all winding down as editing is finalised and everyone waits for game release dates from Frontier. So... Gollancz waits until it's quiet and POW! They're late into the game, but fresh and first to finish the PR race. It's a tactic used in auction bidding wars, advertising, long-distance running and cycling - the 'last leg' push where someone comes from the back to pass the other exhausted contestants.
Is that why Gollancz has been quiet until now? Is that why they've not been here, as a visible part of the community? But suddenly it's a case of 'Hey, everyone, look at us, we're new, nice, shiny, and more exciting 'cos we just got here. Thanks for carrying the baton, indies, time to pass it over and let us finish the race!'
Disclaimer: I have no insider knowledge, or evidence, only an over-active brain desperately searching for something else to think about other than editing. So, it makes stuff up.
But could there be any truth in it, and what effect will it have on you, the punters? Will the fiction-writers all be one big happy family, or factions like those in the game, battling it out bloodily and bodily for limited resources and territory? This stuff has the potential to be better than a space opera in its own right. Maybe someone could write a book about the how the Elite book writers booked their place in readers' hearts and minds...
A real stab in the dark, but could this be one...?
