Powerplay Njikan

Whilst I think this might be a 5th column operation, given this system intersects a number of Hudson and Antal systems, I am open to the possibility that someone might be intentionally pushing this system, not realising just how bad it is.

If you are, please can you speak up and talk about it. We would ask to know what your thinking is as this is a dreadful system for Mahon.

Perhaps someone thinks this is a good exploited system, it makes a poor control system.

If somebody pledged to Mahon verbally supports this expansion (proven with in game stuff) and can prove why it is good, I will self destruct my Conda.

Don't worry. If Hudson attempts to expand to Njikan, I will violently oppose it. I'd like that system to remain neutral.

Unfortunately Njikan is the result of a very stupid group of Xbox CMDRs who don't care about Powerplay (and the people engaged in it) but don't want others to tell them how to play "their" game. They will not listen to reason and we have been dealing with them since early September, well before the merge. This post was one of the first direct encounters we had with one of their smarmy pilots (Cyberguts): https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=185826 It got so heated, the Disneyland mods had to remove three of his posts that contained unpleasant language and one my informative posts where I had quoted him.

They continue to try prepping it every cycle and will continue until they quit playing most likely. Here is another CMDR asking why Njikan is not wanted, most likely after he heard of our objections from the others there: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=193542

The Xbox and PC Hudson organizers have discussed how to deal with the system, but we have not yet come to a conclusion yet. It is our hope that we can successfully block this prep/expansion, as it hurts not only us but our friendly neighbors also.

Alright. That's fair enough, although not flattering for Hudson's side. Because the whole thing now stinks of Hudson commanders pushing it for us so that they both hurt us and get rid of having to deal with it in the future. You guys might be discussing a solution, but apparently some commanders have already found it. I hope that in the name of fair play this system is properly opposed next cycle.

And it can't be Imperials, because they are busy pushing Kali for us instead in order to hurt Winters.

Are you suggesting we are prepping it from Mahon's side as a 5C operation? I don't even want to dignify that accusation with a response, but I will. There is no plan to oppose it through this underhanded and dishonest method. We vehemently despise 5C action as we suffer from plenty of it on our side already.

Perhaps this is a Mahon group who is prepping it for the same reasons as the uninformed Hudson players. As far as I know, the player group that resides there are a multi-faction group and have at least one player from LYR.

If you wish to speak about this with a more recognizable figure, I suggest speaking with Ant Solo on Teamspeak about it, as I have discussed it with him directly.

No, I'm not suggesting the upper echelon of Hudson is responsible for this. I may blame them for a lot of things, but 5C is not one of them as far as I'm concerned.

But I do support that the cause is likely to be commanders who have been with Hudson until now and decided to take the easy solution out of this problem.

And thus I would appreciate if the actual organized part of Hudson opposes it the way it deserves next week. It will be good grounds for merit farming after all so it's win/win.

I will clarify, we plan to block this expansion on our side through out-prepping it or forced turmoil.

I must have misread the original post and was under the impression you were discussing Hudson prepping this system, which contests Mahon and Antal. I now realize you're discussing Mahon prepping it.

If the prep is successful, I will see that our Xbox pilots oppose it when they are not busy with something more pressing, like recovering their credit levels after the last few weeks of trying to secure AF Leporis.

Any opposition to Mahon expanding to this system will be very welcome. I will personally be putting in SCRAP requests to both Hudson and Antal in that eventuality.

I am even considering defecting to Hudson for a cycle to try and stop us expanding their myself.

I think you have misunderstood something. Just to be clear, we are aware of a group that has no interest in Powerplay but do like Njikan probably for the mining.

Some of them have pledged to Hudson to prepare this system for Hudson believing that the Hudson bonus of increased security would be a good thing. They are obviously unaware that they will be interdicted every 5 seconds by Powerplay ships that will behave exactly like pirates.

We don't know anything about who is prepping it for Mahon, it might be the same group or it might be some other group.

hi there,

I am part of the Zach Hudson power leadership and I can assure you that I've spoken to Vectron before about that particular system and we want nobody of us to get that system.

This particular topic is quite important to me as Njikan is my home system since December. By the way: Can anyone tell me why Njikan became so popular suddenly? It was a relatively quiet system back then and now everyone is now talking about it and there are usually multiple CMDRs at Smeaton Port. What happened there? I want it to become the quiet system it once was again

I don't take part in PP but have made njikan my home since I started 6 weeks ago. Pristine metallic ring with good modules at smeagon. Couple haz rez sites. I've never seen another soul in the system.

Ladies and Gentlebeings,

Speaking on behalf of my fellow Utopians, and in support of my esteemed colleague from Taco Corp (Nods to Dumb Xbox Name), I can say that Njikan is a thorn in everyones' side. The damage to Mahon for taking it will be -21cc/week in addition to Mahon's already massive Overhead costs; this system could easily cost the Alliance -80cc/week. :(

The system overlaps key Utopian and Federal systems, and would be bad for them as well. This doesn't even do any good to the common Tradesman, as Mahon's bonuses in Agricultural Production do not apply to a High Tech/Refinery world.

I recommend that we bring this situation to the attention of our respective Reddit Communities and prepare a Multi-Factional Strike force to stop this stupidity.

Ambassador Kaze
