No love for the Alliance ... again

So Feds and Empire get endgame Anaconda sized ships.

All others?

Newbie ships that might be interesting to some but are so below of any half-non-casual players that one CG will put you beyond ever thinking about them.

Asp Scout? Yeah. Well.
Another Cobra?
Another Viper?
Another Type 6 with guns?

What can i say...

This is so disappointing, that as an Alliance player I get [removed inappropriate comment - _Flin_].

And the best response from the live stream:
"When will the Alliance get ranks?"
"I dont know".

Just tell us:
The Alliance will never get ships.
The Alliance will never get ranks.
The Alliance will never get a story.
The Alliance will never get anything worthwile. It can literally haul cheaper crap. That should be enough.

Isn't the Faulon Delacy line of ships THE line of ships for the Alliance? You guys have the best ships in the game.

What ships in previous games belonged to the Alliance ?

How about ranks ? Were there any before ?

(Only played Elite and that didn't have anything like that)

If you can cite things you would like to see from previous games that may prompt FD ?

Absolutely agree. Very disappointing. Especially this empty kind of "answer". :(
Please, at least tell us if there is no Alliance content sheduled the coming months!

From Sandro's answer in the stream, I don't think the Alliance is even on their radar :(. Feeling very left out now as an Alliance commander.

They did say they have a story-line planned for the Alliance in one of the previous livestreams

Equating the situation to battered wife syndrome is just crass by the way

I say , next year when mahon's term is over maybe we will get a new minister who wants to push the shipyards forwards again and maybe even have a military reserve for us CMDRs

Empire has 2 storylines active at all times. Since launch. Empire had more story lines than the Alliance had CGs.

Once there was a storyline for the Alliance. It ended abruptly after 2 CGs.

Am I the only one who thought the Keelback was AWESOME?

I think that ship, and the Cobra MKIV has made me decide to do the unthinkable.

Clear save. Start from Sidewinder.

It's already inspired a whole new novel idea for me

(mind you that depends on how the Keelback actually turns out in practice!)

As in "equip Sidewinder for Mining, mine 6t in a CG, get 7.5 million, buy Asp?"

Can we just talk on how the alliance still has no ships, storyline or CGs?

(This got merged, was an independent post before)
(Frontier dosen't like independents :/)

I mean, it's been months since i last complained about this, but what have changed? - Nothing.
We still have no ships, while the federation and empire is just rolling out their new anaconda-sized vessels.
We have no storyline, while the empire is in a manhunt for this secret organization.
We have no CGs, while it seems like the empire and federation have one every other day!

I'm just wondering why?
What does frontier gain out of leaving the alliance in the mud? The power that is indeed a superpower, that managed to stand up to the federation with only the force of ~20 (mostly anarchic) star systems?!

Why does frontier ignore AAAl? What is supposed to be the biggest shipyard in the galaxy, with ships that used to be the ships everyone should have, isn't even talked about.

Why do we have no story-line? It's clearly not because there is no story to be in the alliance, I'm sure there's a lot of bad stuff going on in the alliance frontier systems.

Now, before you post any of the typical replies to this, let me just answer them and tell them why they don't really go.

But the alliance is an underdog/weak faction/loosely tied.

Oh really? Let me then ask you who managed to hold on the top 1 position in powerplay for so long, which power who managed to survive the brutal federation surrounding them on all sides with only the navy of ~20 systems to defend all the 20 systems. Who is on average flipping two stations to their side every day? Who supports this faction, knowing that the rewards are not worth the hassle? The alliance isn't an underdog, it's far from it. The fact that it has managed to gain so many systems, in what you need to realize is core federation space, is incredible, and no weak, loosely tied faction could do that.

They don't have a navy.

They do. Yes it may be made out of smaller navies, but again, they managed to push back the federation, take over their core territory and get so powerful the federation stopped attacking them of fear.

They don't have shipyard.

Yes they do. AAAl of alioth is described as the biggest shipyard in the galaxy. Here's a quote "Argent Aerodynamics Amalgamated Inc, or AAAI is a company co owned by Mic Turner(deceased) and Meredith Argent. It is an advanced space flight research centre that controls the New Rossyth Shipyards (NRS). The company shipyards are the largest commercial shipyards in known space and due to the engineering skill and ingenuity of its personnel, have produced some of the greatest starships humanity has ever seen, such as the Turner's Quest" You can read more and realize just how stupid it is that they are not in game here : http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Argent_Aerodynamics_Amalgamated_INC

Don't get me wrong, it's cool that the federation and empire are getting new ships (Except that there basically remade models of the federal capital ship, and a mix between the imperial capital ship's engines and the imperial clipper respectively) but i'm just asking for some love for the alliance. It's been a year now frontier, and you've still barely adressed it.

It's a fair question. The Alliance is the only major power that isn't utterly predictable and boring. But no ranks? No exclusive ships? A big opportunity lost if you ask me.

It is indeed strange. Not entirely familiar with the story of the Alliance as I only played the FE2, but why create them and then leave them out, basically? The Asp Scout seems like a particulary unnecessary variant. Why couldn't they've made a specific Alliance ship in that size/price range instead. It would have been a start at the very least.

Unless, unless Alliance ships will be nothing like what the feds or imperials have and it is taking longer to design them. *cough* Thargoids*cough, cough*

There were alliance specific ships, i don't really like the approach but the capship was the carrier. There were also thargoid-tech ships, but i guess that's retconned for now. But still, Alliance had great shipyards, capships and their own ships.

In E:D, we get the short stick all the time. Almost a year since the release and even on the live stream where they needlessly talk about all the stuff that comes up, and make sure to say "i don't know... but i'm all over it! we'll get it done eventaully" about every single little thing, question about alliance stuff gets discarded with, like, "i don't know. next question".

That would be awesome, but it still leaves the question why we have no storyline.
