No love for the Alliance ... again

There were alliance specific ships, i don't really like the approach but the capship was the carrier. There were also thargoid-tech ships, but i guess that's retconned for now. But still, Alliance had great shipyards, capships and their own ships.

In E:D, we get the short stick all the time. Almost a year since the release and even on the live stream where they needlessly talk about all the stuff that comes up, and make sure to say "i don't know... but i'm all over it! we'll get it done eventaully" about every single little thing, question about alliance stuff gets discarded with, like, "i don't know. next question".
I dont think the thargoid stuff is retconned just that our current minister is less into the tech and more into farming

What ships in previous games belonged to the Alliance ?
If you can cite things you would like to see from previous games that may prompt FD ?

You mean like the Turner class (aka Quest class)?
From the New Rossyth shipyards?
Jumprange 92 ly?

Mantis class transport?
Wyvern class light explorer?
Griffin carrier?

Just this.
(Why are the sirius corp the explorer faction again?)

So Feds and Empire get endgame Anaconda sized ships.

All others?

Newbie ships that might be interesting to some but are so below of any half-non-casual players that one CG will put you beyond ever thinking about them.

Asp Scout? Yeah. Well.
Another Cobra?
Another Viper?
Another Type 6 with guns?

What can i say...

This is so disappointing, that as an Alliance player I get battered wife syndrome.

And the best response from the live stream:
"When will the Alliance get ranks?"
"I dont know".

Just tell us:
The Alliance will never get ships.
The Alliance will never get ranks.
The Alliance will never get a story.
The Alliance will never get anything worthwile. It can literally haul cheaper crap. That should be enough.

Ok, first off, keep in mind, its just a game.

Secondly, you are making unfounded assumptions about the long term future of the game, including things that FD do not probably even know themselves yet.

Thirdly, keep in mind the lore about the Alliance. Its still a young organization with a ragtag fleet made up of all sorts of ships from all backgrounds. I wouldn't yet write off things changing as the game and lore unfold, with the Alliance in the future getting more organized, with military ranks, and special ships. But it could be years away yet.

It's easy to do so when there is absoloutley no sign that anything will change.
Also please read more up on the story on the alliance before posting that third note.

Didn't know that so thanks for the info.

Wouldn't give up hope though and the Alliance has my sympathies but IMO you should come and join the Feds, get yourself one of those mean looking corvettes and go back to defending the alliance :D

There's hardly a reason for such an approach - ranks are useless and require some copypasting from fed/imp part, ships can be added later or not added at all - that basically requires little work and could've been done on release. Now, if we're talking about lore - this young organization has existed for how long exactly? A century or two? That's definitely some time to build at least something. And there's a navy with admirals and stuff - do you really think the only rank out there is "admiral"?

So the alliance is supposed to be like the rebel alliance from star wars? Wouldn't mind a mon calamari ship myself.

No time to grind ranks for the feds. Need to turn systems for the Alliance.

Oops, thats been broken for 4 weeks now.
Oops, then it was working for 1 day, now influence is broken.

Exactly, even super small armies like the Norwegian Defence force has rankings!

No, no, no. Cutter, you meant to say. Who in their right mind would fly a Corvette (which as a name sounds like one of those garbage cars).

Haha! (It actually does)
My problem with the cutter is the fat head. It just looks incredibly stupid for air travel, having the center of mass in the front. (or at least near it)

So maybe next time we hear about Alliance having no supporters.

But then why should anyone support the Alliance?
No ships, no ranks, no powerplay bonusses, no special commodities.
Even the story of the Powerplay figure is the one of some greedy corporate politician.

The fat head might just be a result of their video mimicking a wide angle lens, which would make the head larger than it is in reality. Best to wait and try one.
