No love for the Alliance ... again

It's a fair question. The Alliance is the only major power that isn't utterly predictable and boring. But no ranks? No exclusive ships? A big opportunity lost if you ask me.

I agree but the way things are the factions have lost their meaning. Somehow I'm allied with all of them. It would make for a much more interesting experience if our choices meant something.. For example, wouldn't someone notice if I am King in the Empire and a five star admiral in the federation? I'm thinking they should be more mutually exclusive..

It paints me.. PAINS ME, that any old raggamuffin mongrel of the federation or alliance can cruise around in Imperial ships.. Not worthy I tell ya *shakes fist in the air*.. ;)

As the Alliance Navy is a levy from the various Member states, how would you want a Allied Ranking system that is not just a copy of the Federal/Imperial Navy ?

Alliance is supposed to be a loose association of independent systems and they don't waste money on creating their own line of ships, instead they just source the finest ships from what's available on the market.

Or at least that's how I understand it to be.

Didn't know that so thanks for the info.

Wouldn't give up hope though and the Alliance has my sympathies but IMO you should come and join the Feds, get yourself one of those mean looking corvettes and go back to defending the alliance

I'm already admiral so yeah that's the plan. Still, i'd like something to call my own.

Oh and before you ask, i'm ready to buy and outfit cutter too.

Still, i'd like to have a rank at least. Being a random hobo is boring.

Read up AAAl of Alioth aka The biggest shipyard in the galaxy declaring themself the official alliance shipbuilder.

No, no, no. Cutter, you meant to say. Who in their right mind would fly a Corvette (which as a name sounds like one of those garbage cars).

If you're talking about the current models I agree, but you gotta love the classy curves of the early model Vets, like the 58 Stingray, it's a beauty!

And the best response from the live stream:
"When will the Alliance get ranks?"
"I dont know".

Just tell us:
The Alliance will never get ships.
The Alliance will never get ranks.
The Alliance will never get a story.
The Alliance will never get anything worthwile. It can literally haul cheaper crap. That should be enough.

Just got to the point in the stream
Actual reply was When Allied Ranks
"We do want it, but I dont know"

Which does sound like the NEVER NEVER NEVER in you OP, well done

Yeah but there was never a maybe when imperial and federal ranks were coming, it was allways "Of course!"

Why does the Alliance need to have military ranks?
Why not scientific ranks?

If the decision was made to come up with something unique and interesting and implement it, there'd be something unique and interesting implemented.

In the end it's just a copy of the mechanics with some new labels and some new missions.

Are you sure it sounded this way? Got a link to recording? Because what i heard was just "I don't know".

Ed: When can we expect Alliance ranks and ships asks [someone]
SS:I dont know...
Ed: Okay next question
SS: ...We do want it but I dont know

Oh. I stopped listening after Ed interrupted Sandro with "next question". Still, what's there to "want"? It's copy paste at this point. Nothing to hard to do regarding ranks, and ships, well, we've got biggest update on the horizon (hehe), couldn't they squeeze something in there if they did WANT it? I doubt Ed would just randomly interrupt so maybe there's some kind of guide on "how to deal with pesky Alliance questions", or maybe.

The Other posters in the thread asking for military ranks

Statement two is a meaningless tautology

I am not sure what you really want beside licence to complain
You seem to want the Alliance to have everything the other factions have but in a way that isnt the same but not miss out on what is the same but that same isnt good enough either

If you want to put your own spin on it so it is saying nothing feel free to, as clearly they have all the time in the world to do all the things they want right now.
Just like passenger missions
It all must be a conspiracy, and clearly the only correct interpretation of what was said was they never wanted the alliance in game in the first place, it was a mistake, and there will never be any alliance content, ever, all based on "next question"
