Community Event / Creation Question from an aspiring Elite writer - A.I's in Elite

As an aspiring writer I, mainly focusing on Elite as my first endeavour, have been researching the subject of A.I's within the Eliteangerous universe and come up two facts:
1 - Michael Brookes mentions them in his Writers YouTube video.
2 - this attached pic from the Elite Wikipedia page.
That they are indeed mentioned means the at some point they did exist, so my question is:
Is there a timeline that exists as to when they were created, then are subsequently destroyed / left the universe / went into hiding / etc. (you get the point �&#56833??
I'm not interested in giving away details, and if you simply don't know or can't say I understand, but I'm working on a storyline in which possibly a fragmented piece of an A.I could have an impact. I'm not so deep as to have locked myself into anything, and so that's why I'm coming to you directly as the professional writers of Elite cannon.
I would very much like to keep my set of stories as close to Elite as possible.

Beyond that, what we can say is that AI is illegal and banned by treaty. Over the centuries, some rogue AIs may have escaped into deep space and there were rumours from the Delta Pavonis system...

permeate the Universe, or is E homo-sapien centric??

It is human centric. The intelligent humanoid species were only part of the original Elite and were already forgotten by the time of Frontier: Elite II and Frontier First Encounters. There _are_ alien species on alien worlds, but they are not intelligent.
