Alpha install problem

After seeing the docking videos from the BAFTA awwards the other night I decided to upgrade to Alpha. Posting this here as my request for Alpha forum access has not been processed yet.

So, anyway, on with the problem; I downloaded the client installer, installed the launcher and logged in ok, but when I hit the install button I get the following error message:
Exception processing server response: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I've uninstalled the launcher and reinstalled as Admin but get the same error.

I'm thinking (hoping) it might be something to do with Alpha 3 being put onto the servers. Has anyone else experienced this?

Give it a bit of time and try again. A few have had this, the server is very busy at the moment.

Ah, (phew) thanks for the quick response, was hoping it might be something like that, rather than my setup.
Interesting that you say server (as in the singular), was that a typo? Think you'll need a few more by the time Alpha finishes :)

I don't even get an install option with the new launcher. I click play and it is still 2.02.


Maybe the launcher did not install properly??? I'll try again in a bit.

The launcher has news of Alpha 3, but no download, checking updates says it's the latest version and it logs into Alpha 2.02 (with multiplayer redded out)

The launcher update was last week, to version 0.2.740.0, keep hitting the check for updates or reloading the launcher and the "Play" will become "Update"... soon...

The installation file is still propagating to the servers. Once this process completes the install or update button will appear after a restart of the launcher or by checking for updates in the menu accessed by clicking your email address.

Until then if you have a previous install you will get 'Play' and if you don't have a previous install you will get an error as the previous game installer has been removed.
