The plan is for more land vehicles during Season 2.

Dreadnoughts confirmed :D

Hi David,

when landing on a surface, will the ships thrusters blow away dust from the surface in all directions or will it "just land" without any fancy graphics?

Edit:
Same holds for the SRV when driving around, will there be dirt flying around?

Thank you for the exciting update!

Sorry if this is a tired old question, but I've not seen it asked before. If anyone has a link to a previous answer, I'd be happy to follow it and let Mr. Braben answer more pressing questions.

Suppose I purchase Horizons for my PC. Will I have access to the exclusive ships (Cobra IV) on my Mac?

Yes. If you own Seasons 1 and 2 then you get the Cobra Mk IV. Certainly there is continuity - so if you buy it in-game on the PC, you would continue to fly it on the Mac. Need to double-check the purchase option would be there in the Mac...

It will be tight for Tuesday but hopefully we can still achieve this date. It is looking and feeling really good, but if we find another major issue before Tuesday, we’ll let you know.

I will remain on this thread answering questions for the next hour, and will try to do a ‘sneak peek’ tomorrow too.

Good luck to the team - Tuesday's only 6 sleeps away (if they get much!) ;)

Another sneak peek would be grand - they've become required viewing (and again, and again....!) :D

Pleased and not surprised to hear that the game is going 64-bit - nor that very few players are playing it on 32-bit O/S at the moment.

the SRVs arent leaving any traces on the surfaces, right? That would much increase immersion if they would. Making it seem more real.
Would also be nice to be able to see that someone was there before ;)
Any plans on that?
Best wishes

Yes, that already happens. Hopefully noticeable in some of the videos we've shown.

Good stuff. Can't wait!

I think I'm right in saying there aren't NPC SRVs, but it would be really great in the future to have piracy, assassinations and bounty hunting using ground vehicles. I imagine the AI programming would be quite a challenge!

I almost think your survey must be bugged. Here is the Steam survey: http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey
Since "Windows 7 64 bit" is a separate entry, I assume that "Windows 7" without any specification means 32 bit (8.19% of users). I assume that's the same with "Windows 10" (1%) and the others. So even ignoring Windows XP completely, it's still over 10% of Steam users on 32 bit systems.

Probably Elite gamers have beefier systems that your average Steam player, but 0.5% almost can't be right. Are you perhaps only counting systens where "32 bit" is part of the reported OS title?

David, currently the plan is for 1.5 to launch on the XBox at the same time as PC? I've noticed several items for 2.0 that exist in the PC beta ( various commodities available only at surface ports, FSD Boost slider etc. etc) Do these exist in the XBox version or have they been surgically removed ?

Also, it was mentioned that approx 61% of planets can be landed on in 2.0, any idea as to what that means in actual numbers? Someone was asking in another thread.

Good luck with beta launch. I can send whips to make them work fast if you like? :D Or pro plus, whatever works. Both?

A question I guess that may be asked is:

If you have a 32bit OS and want to keep your pre-order until you upgrade your OS, is there an option to disable the "Horizons" section so you can still play the base 1.0 game after 2.0 has been released?

It's nice of you to do a little chat thingy David.

Try and give Sandro a bit of a break after these roll outs, after the last one he really looked shattered and I'm sure some of the team will be also. Wouldn't want them getting burnt out, it's a long road ahead.

Great job overall, it's getting there. You must be pleased.
