Trade Conda to Trade Cutter

Is it worth the upgrade cost?

My current Trade Conda is here and the Trade Cutter I like here.

Jigstar, something is seriously wrong if your trade conda costs 376 million, it should be nowhere near that cost. Same with the Cutter, it's not half a billion for a trade config.

Unless the Panther is released soon, the Cutter is the obvious choice for anyone who is already a billionaire. The only drawback to the Cutter is the imperial rank, it will likely be very high.

Yeah the military grade hull, is a good place to start.

you'd have to plan your routs a little more carefully but I'd say just the shear style the cutter has over the conda would be worth it. plus it'd be a lot harder to pirate one of them than it would a conda just because of the speed, shields, and the fact that you'd probably need a fully laden T9 to even think about masslocking a cutter

At 1000 creds profit per ton, it'll take 300 trade runs to pay the difference off. Jump range is worse, but speed is better...

I'd say go for which ever you prefer flying, or cutter if you love trying to absolutely maximising your profit

Bigger cargo space is always worth the upgrade cost. The Cutter has 60% increase in cargo space, so in essence you can do 2 trips instead of three for the same return. However, at the end of the day it is personal choice, I prefer to trade in a Condie to a T9, I will try the Cutter, but if I prefer flying the Condie I will switch back.

FSD disruption is irrelevant, the cutter outruns all large ships, and we have the option to high wake.

And you need chaff and Heat sinks in a trade/smuggling ship and less Shield boosts

I guess military is an option on the Anaconda, the cutter is around 15LY fully laden, you wouldn't want to put military bulkheads on that thing. Both ships are incredibly tough with stock bulkheads.

How to ruin the balance that was allready gone in PP.. give the imps a ship that still can jump around 20ly and can hold 728tons.

if the imps still get into turmoil when they got a few of these. Than they are doing something wrong

they shoulnt have released this ship without releasing the panther clipper that anyone can buy if you got the money.

I was meaning to cut 132 million off of that build cost.

The cutter has a huge amount of momentum, so it's tedious to always dock with it, even if it has that delicious 700+ cargo space.

My Conda did start off much cheaper but I max'd out the thrusters, to speed up docking, and upped the shields due to some pesky PvP'ers. Thought I'd carry over the upgrades to the Cutter.

that was kinda implied as who in their right mind would even think about using a type-9 for pirating, even in a wing

I'm docking the ship FA-OFF.. Strangely the ship handles better if you manually compensate drift, FA-ON does not compensate fast enough.

It just takes getting used to, it's easy after a while. Also ship deceleration is faster with FA-OFF, same deal with all ships in ED.

T9 seems to be the ship of choice for weddings and funerals though.....

When you go pure max range runaway trader, yes. My own tradeconda is even a tad bit more expensive than his, even with a Li Yong Rui discount. It's more like turret fortress that happens to have 448t cargo instead of a crapload of SCBs and kills off all pirates without breaking a sweat, even if they come in Condas. A powerplay wing may occasionally get through the shield shortly before dying. My Cutter will be similar.

I did try the Trade Conda with weapons once but used them so infrequently decided to drop them for better jump range.
