So, Horizons Beta starts "sometime" between now and monday 30th nov (see the link below) and the anticipation grows by the hour. Until it does actually get released to the waiting hordes, we can express our levels of (im)patience here :D

Horizons Beta Download Instructions
The Elite Dangerous: Horizons beta is just around the corner, and you can still get access by visiting our store.

When it goes live, you’ll need to download the latest launcher from the Frontier Store. This is found in the ‘My Downloadable Products’ section when you Login. The file will be listed as 'Elite Dangerous: Horizons - Beta'. Once you've installed the latest launcher, 'Elite Dangerous: Horizons - Beta' should be available in your games list to select and play.

Steam users will not see Horizons in your available games list, you will only be able to see Elite Dangerous: Horizons through the Frontier Store launcher.

Is there a reason no one (aside from Ian) has posted in this thread for the past two weeks?! :D

The above video is looking really good.

In the video description though, David Braben mentioned a potential delay to the Horizons Beta:

The team are still hard at work on the Horizons beta, including yesterday and today (Sunday). A huge thanks to the team for this, and for those that sent us pizza. Unfortunately the issues last week have compressed the timescales, but the game is looking ever better. This has put the Tuesday beta release at risk, and though Tuesday is still theoretically possible, in all likelihood it will be in the following few days before we can release it.

While playing today I took this video (unedited) – an extra ‘sneak peek’ – landing a Vulture outside Kaleri Oasis in the Teppani system and deploying an SRV– with me messing around in solo. Again some issues, which I won’t list here.

I'm still hopeful for Tuesday, I just hope that we aren't sitting around all week like with patch 1.5 not knowing when it is going to release until moments before it arrives...

Hmm... nice and all but man the texture detail and pop in when in vulture is crappy. And also in SRV when hitting the walls look like 1995 texures

I've been in this since Alpha, I'm long past impatience on releases and very much in a zen 'It Happens When It Happens' thing. Long gone are the days where I kept updating, even when at work, and remote logging in to my home computer to start the upload so it'd be ready when I got home.

I just accepted the fact that it will come out when it's done. Impatience won't speed up the process. Also, I still didn't find a candidate for my first landing. So I have few more days to find that one special...destined for me. After all there can be only one first time...;)

Thanks for the link Ant - I can't believe I missed yesterdays post by David, I spent most of the day on the forums - had a real Doh! moment when I read you post! :rolleyes:

I really hope it's tomorrow. To be honest they could release it in any state, I would forgive them if I crash to desktop every 10 minutes! I just want to play it! :D

DB stated last week that this Tuesday's expected release date was in danger, yesterday he has just reconfirmed that. If FD need more time to get it right, then so be it. My feeling is there is a small chance it could get squeezed out on Tuesday, but probably a 10PM release like a few of the Alpha/Beta releases from 2014.
