HOTAS for Xbox One: Vote now!

I've been looking into the Titan one and Cronus max, the thing that puts me off with them is that they both seem to need a Windows PC running the software to convert the controller inputs into something that the Xbox can recognise, not a major issue I would say as I would imagine a lot of us have one we could use, but all the trailing wires would drive me mental, I may get impatient and go for it, but there's a couple of things that are encouraging me to wait, first is a bit of secondhand info (so I make no guarantees as to validity) about statements from the boss of mad catz (whom I think also own saitek and made Xbox 360 flight sticks) that make it sound like they're developing something.
Second, and most encouraging, is news that Dovetail games are working with Microsoft and are going to bring their flight simulator to Xbox in 2016, it's based off Microsoft flight simulator and is likely to be impossible to play without HOTAS, not only that, people have been known to spend tens of thousands on setups to play Microsoft flight simulator so it should become worth it financially for Microsoft and flight stick makers to give us a setup we can use.

My thoughts exactly. Although the promise of Titan One sounds great, i don't know what else i could utilize it for in the future if a more direct device comes out soon afterwards.

That's my thinking too, if I was on PS4 then I may use it, but I much prefer the Xbox controller, I have hands like shovels and all of the others, (bar the megadrive, but that wouldn't work and doesn't have enough buttons anyway) just give me cramp after a few minutes so being able to use a PS4 controller holds little attraction for me, and I can't think of any situation where I'd want to use a wii controller on anything other than a wii. Keyboard and mouse possibly, but I think if I bought one it would just gather dust and be a waste of beer money if something purpose built became available.

Can you program multi button presses for the extra buttons? Like undercarriage

Sadly I'm pretty sure you can't, as Microsoft think allowing macros will enable cheating in competitive first person shooters, which is the market it's primarily aimed at, some games will support the extra buttons directly but I don't think frontier are planning to, does give you a few more options to change some of the more awkward conbinations to something more manageable, but I personally don't think it's worth buying one as it stands, I will probably buy one when my standard controller dies, just because they are nice, solid good quality controllers, but I don't think it would add much to my own gameplay as I've got used to the controls how they are.
Even if frontier do decide to support it I'd still rather use a stick if I can though.
Just my opinion, not slating the controller, just don't think it would add much for me personally.

Unless your goal is to get microsoft to make a first party Microsoft flight stick, petitioning Xbox or MS is the wrong direction. You need to reach out to Thrustmaster. If Thrustmaster thought they would sell for xbox, they would be available.

Head tracking with Kinect, though, is something Frontier would have to implement. The hardware is there and in place to do it. As much as I'd love for them to use it I'd rather they pour development time into getting us Horizons ASAP.

Well, I voted. I doubt it will happen. But I voted.

Microsoft might allow for a special HOTAS set for xbox one only. But I highly doubt they would add support for existing HOTAS gear. Microsoft like charging £££ for their accessories you forget this

I'm not sure if this would work, but it's an idea and as I don't have a HOTAS I can't try.

1. Run ED on Xbone as usual
2. connect window 10 computer, with Xbox app so can live stream Xbone screen play
3. attach HOTAS to computer and play as normal?

sounds too simple, but for various reasons i have to play ED on surface pro, whilst others watch normal TV. Often i'll play with the controller connected to the Xbone, but at times i've played in different rooms and the Xbone controller is too far away. At these times i connect the xbone controller to the surface via normal usb cable, and it works fine.
There can be a bit laggy/jump around a bit and even drop out when others are using wifi.
But it occurs to me that the input into the surface/computer could be something else other than the Xbone controller?

It seems way too simple a solution and I'm sure others have tried, but couldn't find anyone else trying this solution.

I'm not sure if this would work, but it's an idea and as I don't have a HOTAS I can't try...

99.9% sure it wouldn't work as ED would still be expecting a digital input

Let's not give MS the slightest notion that Kinect has a place in the market, eh? I've used it enough to know that clumsy piece of trash needs consigning to history!

I'm looking at this and also the cronusmax plus but I'm curios about how the throttle works going from digital to analog

I was actually wondering that as well, although PC has a choice of digital or analogue, so the game can cope with it, just depends if that capability is still written in to the Xbox version.

I know there's an option in the (limited) control settings, to switch the throttle conyrol between constant and incremental?
