Who owns more than one account (/character)??

Hmmm....yeah, with only the one account, I doubt too many players would select that option.

Wonder if there's been a poll on how many players play, or have played Ironman mode.

I think a long while back there was a poll on that topic. I know some people play ironman with a single account as well. Not many though.

I've always wanted to go exploring but was put off by the fact it meant missing other things going on in occupied space. Then the GIMPP run started and, wanting to win a patch by completing it before 1st January 2016, I set off on the long journey to Sagittarius A* - and realised I would miss other 'mug-related' events coming up while I was away and did not want to miss them.... so Flossy2 was created. I may take advantage of the current sale and get the Horizons update too, though unfortunately missed out on getting the basic game at the sale price. I kept my name almost the same as I still wanted to be recognised as the same person. :)

I am going to buy a new Horizon account when it launches. My main character is going to do the Distant Worlds expedition, which will probably take 6 months in total to do (there and back). So I want a second character just to do some pew-pew occasionally to break the play up.

You can always select CQC and pew-pew to you hearts content without affecting your explorer character!
One of the many, many reasons FD released same.

I've got 2 accounts, as I like to explore, but you can't do that as well as do the CG's and stuff in the bubble

Yeah...exploring seems to be the predominant reason people go for multiple accounts at present for exactly the reason you give!

I was considering getting a second purely for exploration, but considering Horizons currently costs me $70+ AUD which I'll definitely want for exploration, I probably won't until its on sale sometime next year!

Having your Horizons account doing the exploring, and a £10 Season 1 account in the bubble to do BGS, CGs (the ones that will be available) and PewPew might be a good way to do it on the cheap.

I own two copies of the game as well. One for steam, the other is the retail version. I also bought the game during beta (I missed out on the Life Time Pass, both times), but I pre-ordered Horizons Beta to go with my original Beta game, but I haven't bought Horizons for my steam copy yet (but I probably will).

My original Profile/Commander, I use wherever I feel like, which is mostly in a Private Group with my friends, or Solo Mode. The Profile/Commander I use on steam, I only play in Open Mode regardless of any consequences for doing so.

I am seriously thinking about it. I went exploring a few weeks back and of course when I am 12,000 light years way from the bubble, thats when some friends decide they want some help or want to team up hehe.
I am thinking of getting the second account just to set him up as an explorer.
My first account is out exploring the rim. I bought the second to play in core space and take advantage of all the missions, etc. The third is a mucking around account I can reset as I need to. Gives me a lot of flexibility in what I want to do and when without having to curtail my activities on another account. It helps when doing YouTube vids.

I have a second account, but it doesn't need Horizons at this point. I can do the plant landing thing with my primary account and use the second for experiments and baiting "griefers".

Me do!
One is 57000LY from SOL so a second account helped.
(Of course i bought it 5 days before E:D went on sale.. grr!)

Have a 2nd account for this reason. With Horizons my main will probably go out for extended periods, so No: 2 will take care of things at home.

I'm not too impressed that I'd have to buy a 2nd LEP for my 2nd account, but what can you do?

I bought my second account last night. A while ago I thought about clearing my save and starting fresh, but I just couldn't throw away all the work I've put into it. With the new account I get the best of both worlds. It was funny flying a stock sidey last night and shooting wanted NPCs in a low res to make some money for basic upgrades. :)

I have the lifetime pass on my main account (since kickstarter), so I will play Horizons on it. I don't need to have Horizons on the second account right now, and I'll just wait for a Horizons discount next year to upgrade.

I thought about it for a moment but then came to the conclusion that buying a 2nd account is rather pointless with Horizons coming soon. If I want to reset I can do that. The fact that I don't want to tells me that I'm not going to play with it once Horizons is playable.

Decided to bite the bullet. and get the second account for season one only, while the sale is on. Only 20 bux au. But yes in a few days I will be on planets on my main account as it has the lifetime expansion.
If I get time this weekend I will setup the new account on my lappy and see if main can help get second into a reasonable explorer setup.

Thanks, but that's not the sort of pew pew I like. I like playing in the Elite universe

This is the main reason I would like a second character slot. The issue I actually have is that I have quite a few friends who like to wing up and do combat zones and and the like, and I do want to be part of that, but it stops me from making long distance exploration trips. I at least did Sagittarius A* before most of them started playing, but would like to do some "farside" of the galaxy exploration too.

No. Having more than character slot will allow people to start behaving like jerks (hunting explorers etc) in open without the same possibility for social consequences. If people want to play as psychos or pirates, then they should earn a well deserved rep for it.
