Mouse & keyboard. All I need is a mouse with more buttons on it. Two work great for lateral up and down, but couple more for countermeasures and SCBs would be great.

I've got the CH Pro fighterstick, throttle and pedals working on a big iMac.
Bought the set for their durability and longevity.

Controllermate, JoystickShow, and some creative XML editing are required for the setup.

HOTAS (X-55) & Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals.

2 x USB monitors to display things I forget, surrounded by 2 x Cougar MFD's.

Having said that, I use VA more than the controllers .....

just came back from pc world,no stock of hotas but just placed a order for one....
going for x52 pro, almost went foe x 55,but felt the pro was more suited to space flight in terms of the button layout.

only got to wait a few days....groan

Thurstmaster T-Flight Hotas-X. Simple. Cheap. Effective.

Does what I need it to do.

One of the reasons I made this poll, is due to the last livecast and the controlling of the SRV and turret at the same time. Operating the SRV and turret work fine with a xbox controller, as well as a mouse and keyboard. Those that use a Hotas however, and it seems a fair number do, don't have a way to control both the turret and the vehicle effectively. I made a suggestion in another thread that allowing the use of the trackir/headtracking to control the turret, while having full control of the SRV via the HOTAS would work nicely (for those that have it) as an option. Those that don't have trackir....maybe allow control of the SRV through one of the hats? Throw some ideas if you have any..

I expect that SRV controls (like everything else) can be mapped to a secondary or tertiary controller. So, HOTAS for flight, and an XB360 controller for the SRV if I can do that.

Now that the beauty below has arrived: HOTAS - CH Products Fighterstick + Pro Throttle + MFG Crosswind.

I'm extremely comfortable with mouse+keyboard though and have probably spend most of the time playing Elite using that.

After killing my 2nd Saitek POS, I'm awaiting on delivery of a CH Pro Throttle, Pro pedals and F-16 fighter stick. Gonna be a long week until it gets here...

For combat I use the joystick from the X52 pro, and a Razer Nostromo keypad for the left hand. I like it much better for throttle management and 6DOF maneuvering than the X52pro analog throttle. For supercruise travel and trading runs I steer with the mouse instead of the joystick.
