FSD Interdiction Bug

Was being chased by 4 FDL's who kept interdicting me. Would submit, charge up, and low-wake away. Then I get one where the interdiction rapidly stutters, and causes me to lose within 1 sec. Can we please get this fixed, or at least have a 5 sec min time to successfully interdict someone?

Anyone else have this happen lately? Been seeing it since about 1.2, but this was the first time it really hit me hard.

Yep, regularly. Usually my ship keeps getting turned 90 degrees and back again and I'll end up with 2 blue tunnels and escape vectors at different angles on screen and only one is the right one to aim for. Bizarrely, I've got used to it now and can still generally win them.

Frequently where AIs are involved.

As the interdictor the minigame usually plays out normally, but as the interdictee I often have a glitch-fest. I get the following scenarios all the time:

  • The escape vector instantly teleports somewhere behind the ship. On one occasion this actually resulted in my ship flying backwards in supercruise (could possibly have happened other times but I only realized what was happening the once).
  • The escape vector suddenly flies off-screen in a perfectly straight line with a relatively smooth motion, only it does so at several times the maximum pitch rate of a Vulture in mid-blue.
  • Quantum interdiction! Follow both escape vectors.

By contrast player interdicitons are actually less glitchy. At worst the other player stutters, but if you've seen someone skip in supercruise before it's fairly predictable along their direction of motion.

Not had this, but it doesn't sound like any fun. I have had two other types of interdiction bug, and I imagine FD are getting quite a long string of interdiction bugs. The ones I've seen:

1. Interdiction (either done by the player, or done against the player) draws in every ship in the system.
2. Instant loss trying to interdict another ship. (Seems like the inverse of your one.)

The interdiction code is obviously a bit of a nightmare. Hope they can get it sorted out.

PS: While typing this, your bug just occurred to me! I've been submitting to interdictions normally but thought I'd try to evade it to see what happens and… yep. Bugged out.

Still happens to me occasionally. Been an issue since just after 1.0 came out. Wondering if it's fixed in 1.5 though, as the first set of patch notes mentioned this:

- Two Zero-length vector fixes for velocity during interdiction - could have been causing odd directions

Don't have beta access, so can't confirm!

If that's the "oscillating" marker thing, than I've actually managed to get away from that! But damn, it gave me a headache. :-|

Yeah, it makes me a little nauseous sometimes so I'll just throttle back and murder the AI for causing it instead.
