It somehow happened by itself.

Exactly! All are welcome in the Canonn!

However, I will open fire on anyone who shoots an alien in a first contact scenario. These 7 fixed weapons on my gunship arnt just for looking pretty :D you've been warned, with love <3

Where's Huros? I'm sure he'd have something to say about all this namby-pamby "we come in peace" stuff.

Righhhht then so you guys managed to drop the UAs to the station .... Any new reports ? Have you discovered anything new ? I got a question by the way : they say Pleiades nebula has a history bout thargoids ... What kind of story ?
( maaaan the wait for horizons is really killing me ! I wanna go to merope and search for clues damn it

I don't know the specifics, I only played e84, but apparently there was a Thargoid wreck in Pleione. The system doesn't now even bear much resemblance to that version.

The military bases in reconnaissance/bombing missions in Frontier/FFE also had Thargoid ships "landed" in them.

How about a nice hail, letting them know that we welcome them into human space and all our spaceports. There's an immortal poem that would serve well in such situation and which is luckily written in a manner that aliens would very likely understand:

Roses are red,
violets are blue.
All of our base
are belong to you.

Nice - but im thinking its going to be more like this one:

Canonn to right of them,
Canonn to left of them,
UA in front of them
all Honk'n and Morse'y;
Stock'd with biscuits and tin,
Boldly they flew and well,
Into the system of Death,
Through the Meropian shell
thin science and glory!

Well there IS a lot of nanby-panbying on this thread.

I have no problem with shooting first. The key, however, to any successful encounter with aliens, is shooting last....

Your light shall guide us on this quest Huros ( literally - i expect to see the burning embers of your ship telling us where the evil space whale battle cruisers are ... :)

I think the main difference between the INRA and the Canonn is that we would rather join the Thargoids than defeat them. Even if the 'goids came at us with guns a'blastin' we'd die with our arms wide open and our tin foil hats shinning in their laser.

Not sure you can speak for Lab 69 there. We prefer alien autopsys.....

And quite disappointed by you high levels of nambism

I have no problem with shooting first or not shooting first. The key, however, to any successful encounter with aliens, is shooting last....

It does not matter who's shoots first or last, as long as we get the data.

If I shoot, it's to get data.
If I don't shoot it's to get data.
If I run, it's to save the data.

You haven't done much PVE combat in this game, have you?

Hudson's 'We may not fire the first shot, but we will fire the last' quote makes me laugh because the last shot in ED gets fired by the NPC ship while it's spinning out of control and about to explode. :)
