Problem with 3.0 stuck on multiplayer ship load screen

Has anyone had the problem of the multiplayer not getting past the ship load screen, Nothing seems to work.

Everyone has this problem - it is a known issue and is being worked on.

Don't sit on the loading screen for more than a couple of rotations of the ship - if you're not in by then you won't be getting in, and it can actively prevent others from getting in - the problem can sort of chain react. The only solution is to kill the client with Task Manager and relaunch it. Some people seem to be having more problem than others, but it's pretty widespread. I've got into MP twice out of about 30 tries. Others have better luck, some have tried for hours with no luck at all.

I'm sure this will be resolved very soon. It seems to be a network issue with the initial creation of P2P nstances, but there may be further complications.

This issue was noted before we ever downloaded the update.
Good news is it is their "top" priority.
Bad news is they apparently need some time off.
Expect a fix soon but I doubt before the weekdays.

That's why I suggest they release new builds on a Monday rather than a Friday.

yes, it is, stuck in the load screen, killing the bloody thing in task manager and relaunching didn't help a single time :sigh:
Am at home only for weekends, so not really happy

Handy hint; use end process rather than end task when using task manager to kill the client. If you use end task then it takes a while (30 seconds or so) for the client to stop network traffic. If you try again when it's still active, you get two versions of the same program clogging the network, reducing your chances.

I got in about 6 times yesterday, and managed to save away from the station, which also helps a bit.

Don't give them time off. Chain them to their chairs, lock and bolt all doors and windows and don't let them see daylight until everything is 100% :p:D

Had the same issue. Try this:

Made sure UAC was on in windows and I had full admin, made sure all file names were showing up (ie show hidden folders). You can do all that via the Control Panel.

Delete the installer, delete the game client, delete any Frontier folders.

Especially make sure you delete this folder: C:\Users\USER NAME\AppData\Local\Frontier_Developments

Redownload the Alpha and then reinstall it. this will be a completely clean install. You will know you have done this correctly if you don't get any alerts about overwriting folders which already exist when installing the alpha.

After doing all that, try turning on the AMD crash fix in the options before you try playing.

Alpha is alpha, it sucks and IF I had access I would probably be champing at the bit, however no point getting mad about it as it is the nature of the beast.

Dont think anyone is mad, just wondering if there's something that can be done on the client end to increase successful connection rates.
