LHS 464! What do you know...

I just happened to stumble upon LHS 464. "What an interesting coincidence" i thought. Hmmm, i wonder...

Yes! LHS 6128 also exists! A coincidence??? Really???

P.S.: In case anyone wonders, No 472 or 664. ;)

I'm afraid I'm missing the cultural reference, but these stars are all real-universe stars. "LHS" is a star catalogue, the Luyten Half-second Survey of stars that are visibly moving over time from our point of view on Earth. As you can see from the Sinbad database for this star, it has a couple dozen alternative "names". Most stars have multiple possible names or designations. The ED starmap, however, only has room for one name, so FD had to pick one; they usually picked the "most commonly used" designation.

"LHS 472" also exists in the game, for example - but it's known as "Wolf 1062". "Wolf" being another catalogue of high-proper-motion stars.

Don't you just love this forum at times?

I'd give you a +rep for sure but the forum is broken, sorry.

Ok, for those who are not familiar here's a link. It's one of the first home computers (1984) the original Elite was played on.

Wow. Nice touch. Indeed, some rep would be appropriate, it seems the relevant link is currently not available though...
