Luckey to make an announcement at The Game Awards Thursday 9:00 ET

He made clear on that it's not a pre-order date for CV1.

Disappointing news but...

This is what I hope for. And then hopefully support from FD for Elite.
Sorry to here you sold you rift though.

Yeah well... It's been a good run. Had ED supported properly I would have kept it but essentially this means I was forced to make the sensible choice.

The buyer sounds really excited and it pleases me someone else is going to experience the joy of VR like I did in July 2014..... And despite me pricing somewhat fairly.... I can't lie. The money was better than I ever would have expected at this point.

:)

I have an account there but I think that social media is annoying crap. 140 limit???? Want to post an image, gif or video? You can't just post an image link and see twitter automatically provide the thumbnail.

It's full of who add you then delete you after a week or two hoping you won't notice because they want to look like they have a lot of followers without following many back.

Twitter is dumb.

Dumb dumb dumb!

Really rockband VR thats the big announcement? How disappointing although he did say Q1 Oculus release so at least that is on schedule I guess :(

well it shows how everyone is different.

I too was totally underwhelmed however.............

I sent this info to a mate this morning, he is still on the fence on VR after playing mine. he thinks its cool and all, and will probably get one, but is more interested in experiences than gaming in VR.

(he has a 3 screen racing rig and a proper flight set up and insists of image quality over everything else which is maybe why less interested in gaming in vr)

but he is really really interested in this announcement... so there you go, not all bad for all people BUT

his 1 comment was, was there any mention of *rocksmith* at all?

he would be WAY more interested in actually playing his real guitar and his real drums rather than pretend plastic carp.

I imagine even if it was not mentioned, it is only a matter of time before rocksmith (or equivalent) VR comes out
(the thing with rock smith as you are actually learning to play a real instrument over playing with toys in rockband)

If I didn't play FSX with the DK2. With no support and not being able to get it to work with elite and iracing. Then I would sell it. Even saying that, I may.

Are you having issues working in iracing? That's been the most faultless VR experience I have had yet. Only the resolution lacks at this point IMO.

I wasn't having any problems with Iracing until windows broke the switcher for me. I am sure they will update to the latest sdk once 1.0 drops. At the moment I don't have my race rig set up as I have only just move home. So have not tried to get it working in the last 3 weeks.
The resolution was not even a problem with the sweetfx fix applied.

I'm with you 100%. I bought my DK2 solely for ED, and unfortunately things just keep going downhill with no real light at the end of the tunnel. I applaud all the diehards who have managed to keep it duct-taped together and working, but I'm kind of over it at this point. I haven't really played ED much at all the past few months... it's just so bland to go back to playing on a monitor.

Anyway, I just sold my DK2 today for quite a nice sum. Enough to easily pay for a CV1 and the Horizons expansion. Assuming they get everything worked out by the time the CV1 ships. I'm optimistic they will, but I think they just have too much on their plate right now to give it the attention it needs.

In any case, I'm just stoked I was able to unload what would have otherwise become a $350 paperweight in a few months, and make money on the deal to boot. I'm kind of surprised more people don't seem to be doing this.

Yeah sweetfx was great for that, night and day. I haven't been racing for a month or so but it was working fine for me with win 10. Switcher is currently working as well. How about if you just installed only the 5 or 6 Oculus software that way it would work on ED and iRacing and you wouldn't need the switcher?

Where did you unload yours? I am thinking of doing the same thing tired of the constant tweaking and going to wait until they get it right. Works okay for I-Racing too but the resolution makes it very difficult to drive effectively.
