is the navigation system hierarchy with the galaxy map option new?

At what point did you see this? I must've blinked...

EDIT : @5.33.. I did blink... it was very brief... Nope, not seen that so far... interesting times coming up for Alpha 4 :)

Excellent video, and I have to say that alpha 3 is starting to feel like a full game now you can hyperspace between areas and dock, with everything that entails :)

Anyone else think that it is wierd having radar showing the ships outside the station, whilst still inside the station and in the process of launching ? At about 5:50.

What radar? :p Thermal positioning (technobabble) scanner getting feed from station's external scanners, works like a charm.

But, I wouldn't be surprised if later on getting inside the station would cut off signals from outside - lost completely, or showing just last known position (i.e. destroyed/hyperspaced ships still shown, new arrivals not, etc.). Maybe more advanced stations feed continuous updates to ships inside, less advanced only sporadic or not at all?

the question is: it will be full screen or windowed in the cockpit hud ?

the ''mistery'' of this image will be finally solved ?

I'm wondering about this too.
I know the general design decision is to have everything as a realistically depicted POV including data displays, but for some reason I enjoy certain screens - especially a starmap/navigation map - to be full screen. For me I prefer some screens to be 'psychologically' (or at least perceptually) in a different space - where I can think and ruminate and enjoy the sweeping implication of a starmap. And possibly sip sherry.
That slightly nebulous sensation would be lessened for me if it was a semitransparent orange pop up with the cockpit beyond.

I agree.

i hope they will choose for a full screen, may be starting as windowed in the hud where you can click on it for zoom to a full screen resolution..

whilst we're commenting on the hud display......I'd like to see the landing pad become the focus as soon as you enter the station. not like present where it doesn't switch to the pad until you're right on top of it (almost)

Possibly you'd swivel around in your ship and see it in a big holo display in the back with the backdrop darkened / blurred?

In my opinion the scanner should change to some sort of ILS once you come reasonably close to the space station entrance perhaps at the point you request docking. The ILS should guide you to the landing bay. Then when you are in close the scanner changes to the current landing graphic.
