PC spec for VR

Just wondered if anyone could tell me, in their opinion, if my PC specs would be sufficient for VR? I realise there has been an official announcement about minimum specs, but it's really info on whether GTX970 (SLI) will be enough.

Processor - i5 (Devil's Canyon)
2 x GTX970 (SLI)
8 Gig RAM

If not where could I improve my setup to give me a chance.

Also which way to go Oculus Rift or HTC Vive?

Thanks

Personal thoughts your specs are very good and if they ever include Gameworks VR support your probably going to be laughing, but the truth is nobody really knows yet until they release a consumer product and people start testing how anything will perform.

Rift or Vive that's the big question ? depends on availability, price and game support for me

the i5 is the only thing I'd be concerned about.. other than that your cards are way newer than mine and i'm playing beta in vr with very little problems. I'd also add another 8gb of ram just to be safe.

As of now, Yes..SLi still suffers from latency issues. The Gameworks VR is the solution to said problem but has not been worked into the game..yet..I play in VR with SLii and it really isnt noticable until you see the game run on a single card solution. then it becomes apparent.
