Lot of feedback there. I'm a bit confused why they've gone to live with what seems like still a very crash prone build. That probably won't do them many favours with the media lot that are on the fence or already sceptical of CIG.

What system specs do you have by the way?. Frame rate still seems bad there as you report for sure.

I'm running Windows 8.1 64-bit
Intel Core i7-4770 3.40GHz
GeForce GTX 760
16 GB RAM

Was able to play one hour (Until i closed the game to get some food). It is just AWESOME and better then expected. After PTU feedback i belived crashes would lurk everywhere but all worked fine (except some small glichtes). Spend 30min just eva around the security station. That level of detail in and around the station is crazy.

IF CIG continue this way we get our Best Damn Space Sim.

I can't believe I'm saying this but so far I had actual fun in the PTU!
I walk up tp the console, choose my ship, walk to the landing pad and enter the ship. Then I warp to other station and they asked for assistance with some bad guys. Managed to kill one with the help of other player (I think it was a player) - warped back, landed and walked out the ship. That's actual meaningful game play.
All pretty smooth and with pretty decent FPS.
Of course graphics are gorgeous and the space stations are massive and detailed. Really feels huge.
Flight model still don't feel great to me, walking around have bad head bob/sway and for some reason game wont recognize my X-55 axis. Other than that they really made something this time.
-any tips how to make SC recognize my stick axis again? I can assign buttons but nothing more.
EDIR: never mind, re-installing drivers for X-55 solved the issue...

To everybody who plays the 2.0, F12 is a good key to always press, once the chat is on you can party up with people or go help/rescue people, wathever you want. That yes, makes the gameplay fun with other players.
The Alt + Backspace is also something you will need to use, specially when you get into bugged animations.

It's Alpha is Alpha. I was expecting them to work out the Server Frame Issues better before live, because that is one really annoying thing that they have to work out on the release, if one instance is derpy join again o enter another the FPS issue is not your side. I'm not having your crashy experience however. Also can't agree about the FM at all, i'm not having the frustrating experience i always had on controlling and movement.
Also a hint, you always have a default weapon outside the safe area, just press 1.
Oh another hint, go try to fly one Connie and tell me how that goes, they're spawned by the game on pads 9 and 10. (try to find one instance without server problems first, otherwise you're derp, your card won't help also)

That's great, the trick of 2.0 s really work around some annoyances and bugs to simply have fun. ;)
Comparing to what it was on the first PTU releases, it's fairly playable.

I might be the lucky one but SC crashed on me only twice so far, and the loading times are not that long. But there are tons of glitches and texture pop-ins.

Speed has been nerfed across the board. I thought I was doing something wrong when a speedy fighter Gladius could only reach 100mps - but I later flew a Retaliator and it could only reach 50. eesh. Maybe that's a way to make the maps artificially seem bigger? Maybe I'm wrong and I've got the parking brake engaged. I was in the Retaliator flying to get to one of those satellite dealy's - and got bored because it was taking so long. And then the game crashed before I got there.

Are you sure that your ship was in SCM Mode?

This is it.....I downloaded 30gigs(again) and I finally put my hands on the SC PU for the very first time and here is my impressions...
First before I start to comment actual game I want to tell you that this is what Alpha suppose to be and I was expecting to see this(kind of)way way before at least at the end of 2014 never the less it's here so here we go.....

Bugs are everywhere and I will try to Ignore and isolate this issue as much as I can so that at end this is not going to be something that will impact my overall opinion on the actual game-play which is atm very hard to ignore.....
Well I log in and enter the PU,I guess that many of you saw on YT what's happened next so I will cut the chase, approach to the terminal and ask for your ship, after small confusion I found the launching pad and follow the procedure of decompression chamber first...Ship was there but I could not enter(BUG) so I went back to the central room again pass that chamber...after few times of repeating this game snap so I need to re-enter again, must said that decompression chamber was not fun to watch even first time and starts to be really annoying after 3rd......

Voala I enter the ship and start to fly....As expected Taking off was just a lousy&easy push-up and there was no feeling that you actually flying a space ship that poses any mass and I could not see any difference from taking off in AC from previous game versions...well it was just bad,I fly a bit around the station and admire the nice&shiny GFX I didn't notice any significant changes in FM,OK it does seems a bit slower but as I tried later on AC&Vandull I can only said that turret FEST is still there and that is your best option for win.Ok then I continue and find a place to use a quantum drive,I jumped into the wast of space...animation looks cool&smooth and it's not something that can annoys me after I seen it for multiple times over(which was not the case with that pressure chamber)...I arrived and admire again the cool GFX of the close look of the Planet near by then I was getting a bit bored so I Ejected from the ship and try to come back in...after few min game stop responding(Again)...Later on I manage to play some actual mission in PU,shoot some pirates and repair computer on space-beacon(sort of) where you need to get out of your ship and get into the beacon...well it was so-so experience almost fun to do it....

Maybe I still didn't played that much so I will try to avoid my final conclusion of 2.0 but here is some of my impressions so far:
1)It's working as actual-real Alpha that many of us expecting years ago
2)Buggy mess on every step
3)FM are still really bad almost as bad as in previous version
4)It's still impression that I am playing just a demo where you can fly around and take some cool Screen shots&videos
5)It was worth of trying compared to the few last patches of AC this is at least some real progress that you can see it&feel it...

It was actually a funny story - I was flying a Connie (yep, felt weightless) to the fps station - when I quantum drived in, someone else did also and attacked me from behind. The ship was pretty hapless, so I bailed (with the aforementioned ten second get out of the cockpit seat animation). I made my way to the airlock, and I'm not sure if I successfully bailed out or the ship was destroyed around me - either way, I was floating in space near the station, and my attacker warped off. I started eva-ing towards it, and noticed a Gladius shooting at something - a landed Gladius on the ground. I almost reached him when he left, the parked ship destroyed. Never mind, I thought, I'll explore this station. I made my way to the airlock, got in and came face to face with someone with a assault riffle, who was presumably about to leave. We stared at each other for a second, then he shot me. But the joke was on him, because he was about to find that he was stranded with only the remains of his ship and a corpse for company.

No idea - I wasn't in 'landing mode', that's about all I know :)

Would you like to try again? If so, try to hit "V" while accelerating, it's supposed to change the flight mode from "Precise" to "SCM" and then to "Cruise".
I'm out of town for this weekend so i can't really do test it now for myself
Or maybe it's just a bug =)

Pretty sure he was not in cruise mode - you can fly REALLY fast.

After some more messing around I can only agree - this is what I expected when I first downloaded AC year or so ago. Its buggy and small, but at least they show that they can make a game out of this idea. 2.0 restored at least some part of my faith in to the project.

TrackIR is broken for 2.0 :(

Apparently it will get fixed, but I cannot really make any fair judgement on the 2.0 rollout until it does get fixed - I have been so used to having TrackIR that not having it makes it completely different game, a much diminished experience.

So gonna wait for the TrackIR patch before going any further with this.

Remember, November 2014 was supposed to be the final release date. I expected something like this in 2013, not after they burned through more than 100 millions (AMD payments included).

This techdemo is just a "what if". What could happen, if Microsoft steps in and removes the entire management (including all the ascended fanboys you regularly see on YouTube), stops the YouTube madness, sells the furniture, closes two of the four studios and moves funds towards actual game development.

BTW- Yela moon scale is very unrealistic - I landed on one of its belt asteroids so I know how big they are - this moon should be like 40km across. Yet its perfectly round with craters and all. I hope its alpha stuff, if not - terribly disappointed. The gas giant tho looks all right - cant get close to it - its big and in the distance.

I am well aware when CIG was suppose to release the game and I said what was my personal expectations(for alpha release) you quote my words:"at least at the end of 2014",I just been realistic as always trying to be so I was expecting "normal"delays and beginning of "true" alpha back then(end 2014)....As I mention above I was not impressed to much with 2.0 so far but it is a significant progress from what was my experience in the past usually regarding on CIG and their game development so far.....

After a whole day of downloading this crap, I finally gave it a go.

It's just...I don't understand how can someone design this abomination of a so called "flight model" and think it's good ?
I tried to be as forgiving as possible, considering it's an alpha, etc. but first...

- had to rebind the whole joystick controls to suit the logical layout, meaning they had yaw in place of roll, no strafing up/down, left/right, etc.
- had to decrease master sensitivity in game from 1.0 to 0.4, still sucks or doesn't have any effect
- my Constellation is just a pain to fly.

It flies something like this...
Imagine you're horseback riding. Now imagine you have a long, long stick in your hand, with a heavy stone attached to the end of it. Now imagine someone told you to hit an apple hanging on a string with it, while the horse is in full gallop.

That's how difficult it is to keep your nose on the target, or for that matter, to any point you wanna go. It's just constant, tiring, unnecessary battle with the joystick and the game itself.

My verdict for 2.0:

- Sound: 2/10
- Graphics: 10/10
- Gameplay: 0/10
- Sensation of flying a spaceship: 0/10
- Redesigned flight model: 0/10
- Multiplayer: didn't get that far, because no point.

Overall 3/10.

If I was a mouse user, maybe it would be 5/10, but then I wouldn't have backed it in the first place now wouldn't I ?

There is a new page on the official site for the actual Feature List of 2.0, but the nice part is now they list what's in for the next release: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/feature-list

2pwSv95.jpg

"IN THE NEXT UPDATE (LIST IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE):

New additions
The Million Mile High Club
Character Customizer (armor / Clothes)
Increase number of supported players
FPS cover system
FPS Starts/Stops
FPS Aim/look pose separation
Physicalized EVA

Improvements
Holotable improvement
Main menu art
FPS Hit reaction
FPS No weapon locomotion
FPS P4AR polish
FPS ArcLight polish
SPACEFLIGHT UI optimization
SPACEFLIGHT Focus Mode polish"

Seems next update going to roll out new and improvements to FPS. But the major feature is really the Character Costumizer, so it seems to not imply Shopping yet, but it does imply persistence of your customized stuff towards when you join the Universe.

Did break down all of Crusader Moons on a scientific perspective, that one is from Yela.

After a whole day of downloading this crap, I finally gave it a go.
If I was a mouse user, maybe it would be 5/10, but then I wouldn't have backed it in the first place now wouldn't I ?

Jesus! You better just hurry up and get your refund then, if there's a 0/10 on gameplay on this release for you on this piece of "crap", then i can only recommend you to get your money back and go play another game.
Really if this release is 0/10 on gameplay, then it will never, on this universe, reach your level of expectations.

Really not bothered in the slightest about a character creator or shopping stuff. Could easily wait for that towards the main public release wherever that will be. I can see why CIG will implement it at this point as it's surely a path for more money if people want to spend real money buying ingame to buy cosmetic bits and pieces and weapon shizzle. That's fine but I really hope they keep the focus on improving the flight model etc.

Have read a lot of feedback now and the jury is still very much out on the flight model. I'd more of less resigned myself to using mouse and throttle for this during the last phase. It just seems using a stick is still very much the poor relative that is causing a stink at the work Xmas party.

It's the first path for persistence, this is why they're also going to add the Holotable on Crusader, it's not only on clothing, yet as well, ship parts and stuff, that seems to be where shopping is going to it. It's something people really want, the fact you look exactly as everyone else, and the lack of female characters kinda makes it annoying.

On SC you are actually one character, not one Ship, so that puts it on a priority list, even with the space sim aspect of it, you're still one character inside one ship, it's not faked.
