Just rename the Horisons beta folder to: elite-dangerous-64
Then it doesn't have to redownload the entire thing
Not necessary dude, the installer now pulls the data from the Beta folder. Took me 10 mins to download horizons, normally I would be waiting a couple of hours minimum.
It started that way for me. Currently at .05MB/sec AND it's almost completely hosed my internet connection, only a .25MB/sec Upload when normally, it's around 1.5. It's almost as if, I'm sharing a torrent file... hmmm.
Every Elite update has been similar for me. I get very slow download speeds and frequently have to restart it because it timed out.
NAT is open, regular torrents work fine, Steam downloads are always over 8MB/s. While I was waiting for this to trickle another few MB, I just downloaded 5 GB of files for a flight sim and that only took half an hour. Wish there was another way of getting Elite updates.

Mine took about 10 mins and thats from a crappy hotel connection.
It pulls most of the files from the Beta files (if you had beta), so it is going to depend.
