Expedition Day 1:

We had between 25 and 30 CMDRs in the TeamSpeak for a couple hours! Awesome way to kick off the search. I'm reminded of the old days before we knew that UA convoys spawned in SSS. We have absolutely nothing to go on right now. It won't be long until someone finds somethings and we can develop theories to refine the search. Just like last time. The only difference? We're a well tuned machine now o7 even got a sexy website.

SilentAeon and I spent the day on 3 different moons. He was in a SRV and I followed him for fire support. The only trouble we really ran into was when I accidentally rammed him to death (sorry!) It turns out obsidian orbital has a resupply for SRVs so the day was saved by those hard working people who contributed to the CG o7 too bad it also has a black market

Lugging the gunship out that far was totally worth it, and the Balck Friday paint turns her solid white. I've decided to name her Meanderthal as in 'I like to wander, but i have no idea where I'm going" We've still got about a dozen Cannoneers in the TS and even a couple Fuel Rats. We met non-canonn CMDRs out in Merope who waved and said hi. Even met a few people I recognized from the forums o7 over all a great day.

Things I learned today:
The UA shell is still 135 to 150 LY around merope
There is something interesting and green in the launch trailer
UA now damages your canopy
The T ships continue to go unscaned by the UA
However the UA does sing the Keelback song
Tea and Gold seem to be very common on the Merope moons

add that during recording my video today I noticed that the UA's green colour can be seen much easier on the surface which does seem a lot like the trailer's green hues.
I'd like to also

Eh, what does this mean? I've spent hours flying and driving round moons in Merope (primarily 2A and 5A( and not seen a single thing, not even a basic metallic rock.

Very dark there and no stars in sky, do any of planets in Merope have deep canyons?

Found some on 5A

Not a huge amount going down on Merope 5A, although we did discover that co-ordinating multiple people at a planetary level isn't actually that tough. I'm gonna go for a more thorough scour tomorrow evening. Fuel materials seem ridiculously scarce there, so I may do a lot of it from my ship and just land at PoIs.

Doesn't look like canyons, it look like an open desert with small hills, they probably took the shot out of direct sun light, they probably edited the shot to remove the stars and planets out, it what I would do. I would bet on it being a ice moon, it to smooth to be metal or rock to me. Plus all those medical convoys that use to stop at ice planets or moons, stretching but someone with Horizons may want to follow those and see if it leads anywhere without an atmosphere.

Of cause we don't even know if it is in Merope. May be we need to do something in Merop to get the next clue.

Well also an eclipse of the star does seem to make it very dark too, you can see an example of this in the Kalb system at I think Kalb 2 B......It was the place where the beta CG data core was first found before it was fixed.

well id love to join in. got the game cant play it with my laptops graphics card 2gb gt 730m really disappointed tried every setting good luck in the search and il able to help in 2 months when iv saved up for a new pc and the broken bones in my hand have healed. good luck commanders i will be watching 07

Seems like Horizons has given the exploration community a new sense of excitement and adventure. Glad to see that :)

Currently, I don't have Horizons. I won't have it until Thursday. But until then I got plenty of 1.5 stuff to play with, and I'll be resuming my search for StarShip One and the Antares tonight. When I get my moon buggy, I'll check out some of the airless worlds around Sirius and Azaleach just in case either of those ships crash landed.

Keep up the great and exciting work, Canonn. And remember, if any aliens come around and start giving you trouble, the Knights will be there to mop 'em up ;)

Buzzing about Merope right now, nothing to report on my end. Got this sweet photo-op on Merope 5b though!

Was watching the trailer again for horizons... If we are searching for what we assume is a single location, should we start by matching planets surface coloring of that in the trailer?

We see in the clip just before our "beloved" the surface is very red/brown in color, whereas the clip of our mystery planet is more towards the light brown, possible tan spectrum. If we go based on what's in Merope, we have 5a and 5c which are both very light in color, and unsaturated if you will, one is basically gray but can't remember which. While 5b is very saturated with red/brown. Also as mentioned before, it looks to be either in a very deep canyon, or possibly even a cave (who knows if that's even a thing yet).

Back to the search I go.

The UA's I'm finding have changed. Earlier, they would glow blue in time with the wails when I first entered the SSS, and would glow red after I jettisoned them. Now they're red right from the start.

Was 500+LY out when I finally finished downloading horizons, flew all the way back to civilisation to equip myself. I didn't stop to try landing, I headed straight for merope. So far I've found quite a lot of rocks, one other commander, and some crashed satellite looking type thingy, this is most definitely science. Rocks is science right?

To put something to think out here: What are we looking for exactly? Can it be a POI? Will it be stationary?

So far drove 1 hour around 5C and found just the random outposts and materials. Nothing out of the ordinary. Also Distress calls and salvageable wrecks seem the same as everywhere.

That's the thing, it's hard to say what we are looking for. It's evident from the trailer there are potentially explorable alien sites, but are they in merope? Have we been pointed here for an entirely different reason? I would hazard a guess that merope constitutes nothing more than another breadcrumb in a very winding trail, but then I'm kinda new to the whole UA thing, I could be talking out of my asp.
