Horizons Anybody else having SRV issues with FORWARD ONLY throttle?

I am finding it way too difficult to pilot the SRV with Forward Only throttle. It seems the deadzone is all mixed up and my throttle is not a smooth transition forward. Anyone else having this issue currently?

I see these bug tickets from Beta 1 through Beta 6. Just curious if this bug made it out of the beta. The SRV is nearly unplayable for me :(

Yes, a lot of trouble. I drove it on planet surfaces in Beta and noticed it there but didn't think much of it afterword as it just made it a little bit of a pain to dock on the ship. But I landed at a port to drop off some cargo and wanted to tool around "town" and look around. There is no surface map of the place (the "surface map" in the left panel is for the planet not the port) and I got hopelessly lost. Thought requesting docking would show me where to go but it just made things a whole lot worse. So, while trying to figure out where to go was having trouble keeping the <blank>ing buggy straight and it keeps flipping this way and that. Every time that happens the forward throttle stops working and you have to pump the throttle after coming to a complete stop to get it back.

Man that was frustrating as all....

So, after this jaunt I have determined that A) Need a local map for the port you are in B) a <much swearing> steering sensitivity option in CONTROLS and C) When asking for docking the place you should actually go to should be ticked on the map (it seriously was not related to where I actually had to go in the end, which wasn't marked at all) and D) really need to fix that throttle, it made things way worse for me. I was ready to self destruct (if there is that setting on a SRV) just to get back to the ship..

I won't be puttering around ports again any time soon..

Are you sure you have the correct inputs assigned to the throttle axis of your stick? Many people assign the joystick to the digital inputs instead of the analog input and the stick acts as a button instead of an analog stick. You basically tell the game to do exactly that by assigning a analog axis direction to a digital input.

Make sure the throttle acis input is not empty and assigned to the throttle axis of the stick.

I am suffering the same problems. I use X52 and use the slider button as "thrust direction" so to say. It works great with ship, never had any issues. It works catastrophic with srv. Exactly same settings.
It behaves like zeroing and reversing and stopping and changing all the time.
It drives me nuts :(

You guys are...

The srv handles like a car. The ship, well, is a ship. The digital throttle settings in the ship controls increase and decrease throttle in increments since simulating a throttle via a keyboard require that. Pressing and holding w or the slider button slowly pushes the throttle forward.

When controlling the gas pedal on a digital car, a digital button 'steps on it' giving it full gas. Just make sure you assigned an analog axis to the throttle of the srv throttle axis and not the forward and backward digital inputs.

Not as dumb as you may think, good sir. Of cause ive bound it to analog axis ... Let me explain it more in detail for you, good sir ...
I use x52 HOTAS. it has a throttle. On this throttle is a slider.
I set settings like: always forward. So my throttle controls from 0 to 100% the SRV throttle ... From 0 to 100%. So if I put it to 43%, SRV accelerates to approx. 43% overall speed. SAME LIKE SHIP.
If I now want to reverse, I push this SLIDER on the throttle in the back position. That means: reverse the throttle. This is set in key bindings ("reverse throttle" button).
This config works fine with the ships. But on SRV, he mashes the yellow speed step totally up. (The one which says: that's the speed I want to reach, like 55% forward or 83%backwards). It jumps all around and vibrates and don't know if it likes to be forwards or backwards.
Tricky little thingy!
I hope it's now clear for you, good sir, and you now understand, that I am not really a " ......" ?
Thanks in advance.

I have some issues with deadzone or zero, but i have set the SRV throttle to the hotas throttle full range (forwards is past centre away, reverse is past centre towards me) the SRV will just roll in reverse and not "detect" the throttle is in full forward. Had this in Beta, still the same. A quick on/off with the handbrake rectifies it though.

I don't think you guys are dumb, why would I think that?

I really want to help. Can you post a screenshot of your ship and SRV control bindings? Just the relevant sections. Let's see at least everything is set up correctly.

Did they fix the problem where - If you reverse, then hit forward throttle before stopping, it stays in reverse? Because that was dumb. I had to use my handbrake every time I wanted to swap from reverse to forwards, come to a complete stop, then throttle forward again.

Not fixed yet, but I think it's not happening as often as it did in beta.
