Horizons Bi-Weave shield generator.

I fitted a C5 Bi-Weave shield generator to my Vulture and went to test it out.

I took on an Elite Anaconda and got his shields down completely. I took some good hits, he got me down to one ring so I backed off to recharge, this was the test I wanted to do. I wanted to see how fast the bi-weaves could recharge.

I had 4 pips to systems, no SCBs and no shield boosters. Anyway the Anaconda got his shields back up to full health from zero before I could add a second ring to mine.

Am I expecting a bit too much of these new shields? Maybe the Connie driver had done some synthesising?

Any ideas?

Cheers.

Generation of Bi-Weave vs. Prismatic/Standard ist 1,5 MJ/s vs. 1,0 MJ/s. Hence, they charge 50% faster.

However, shields down on all shields now triples? regeneration rate until capacitor runs empty or shield is up again.

Therefore: Regeneration rate on dropped shields is always the highest. With active shields Bi-Weave give that important 50%.

Bw shields are definitely faster. I can't really speak for the scenario you describe though, as it's a touch anecdotal. But a FAS with Bw shields that have no boosters shouldn't take longer to get a single line compared to an Anaconda fully regenerating from collapsed.

They regenerate 50% faster while still up. It is likely the Anaconda used an SCB while you were running away to recharge your shields.

Edit: why did you necro a 5 year old thread

Excellent necro. To beat this someone's almost going to have to find a post about First Encounters.

There might been one of two little tweaks to the game which just may have affected how NPC shields work since the OP.
