Well now I'm really, REALLY ticked off.

After spending months carefully avoiding doing ANYTHING to get a fine, I'm out driving around a moon and shoot a rock for the minerals and BAM, 100cr fine for being in a no fire zone (for which there is no indicator).

13 million credits and months of exploring, and now I have to delete and restart.

There needs to be a damn indicator when you're in a location that will incur fines, and I don't just mean a little warning in the chat window. There needs to be something on the HUD.

...What?

Delete and restart? Because of a fine?

Is...this a troll...?

Either that or extreme case of OCD.

Not a troll, it's just something I take seriously in my gameplay. I'm a trader and explorer. I don't violate the laws, I don't enter combat if I can avoid it, and I don't violate the laws! I can't STAND having a blot like this on my record, even if it's just 100cr. It's like having a splinter in my shoe, it's a trivial thing that's causing me great pain.

Can't argue that you should definitely 100% always know you're in a No Fire Zone, though.

But yeah, what? You don't HAVE to delete and restart, even if you're playing under some self-imposed rule where you restart if you ever get a tiny fine (much like how if I ever get a parking ticket in real-life I'm going to commit suicide) that's still a self-imposed rule.

Records? Once you pay for what you've done, there is no record. You've payed your dues.

Furthermore, obtaining a fine doesn't make you a criminal. Not paying said fine does, though.

You had better pay that fine.

You did not violate the law so please calm down. You have received a fine. Imagine parking your car along the side of a street and forgetting to put enough coins in the meter. It is not the end of the world. Same goes to speeding, would you commit ritual suicide if you happened to get a speeding ticket. Think logically when you role play. What would you ACTUALLY do in such a situation.

Thats life mate, everyone has broken, breaks the law, even if they don't know it.

To go through life trying super hard not to do it ,,,, sad .. and that's real life..

In a game.

I've received a 50$ ticket for not wearing my seatbelt because the police officer couldn't see the strap on my shoulder while he sat inside his patrol car. It was cheaper for me to pay the fine than to excuse myself from work so I could go contest it court. Not all fines are justified or mean that that you committed a criminal act, even in real life.

I can relate to the angst... every time I go see a movie in a theater, I get the largest bag of popcorn.

Even if one popped morsel drops from the bag to the floor, uneaten, I immediately dump the whole bag in the trash... burn my ticket, and drive back home.

I take my flawless movie-watching experience very seriously.

I'm also single, and girls never want to go to the movies with me. I'm not sure if it's related or not.

Anyhoo. I'd type more, but I've got to get back to bounty hunting. I heard there's some Explorer out there recently back from a few months in deep space, running around with a $100 fine - that's going to be one sweet PVP kill.

Starting over for it isn't worth it. One of the closest things you can get to a guarantee in this game, is that you will at some point recieve a fine for something, even if it's not your fault. If you start over every time, it won't matter how hard you try, you will be doing it again, and if your lucky, it won't be after months of not doing it. My advise would be to take your medicine, and realize just like life.. (Expletive) happens.
