Yeah Baby.
Several things improved for me.

1. Firstly, Mined for one hour and no jamming of refinery. Only time I had to look at the right panel was to throw out some junk when the cargo bay was finally full.

2. Yields from Rocks are Up! In standard part of ring (not extraction) each frag was only 2.5% of total or there about, as opposed to 3.5% -4.2% (meaning you get more frags from a roid)

3. Biggest one for me NO MORE BIG PAUSES in Metallic Rings. YES YES YES... My high end rig is finally Silky Smooth as I fly through the roids as I am no longer getting the big pauses at set distances.

Oh yeah you can land on planets too ;-)

Death Star... except... doesn't just explode the planet... but also tractor-beams in all the debris for processing.

Yeah a massive improvement isn't it. I only tried mining briefly in beta but it's way better. May even be able to mine in a RES site and not end up with hull damage from spending too much time in the "Resource Unallocated" screen.

You can also filter to an extent but not as advanced as I'd like, looks like you might be able to filter for a particular goal which will help with CG's.
