UPDATE 24/12/15 : Horizons Detail FX v2.0 added to this page.
Hi all,
I've been playing around some with Reshade in the Horizons beta. I wanted to add some detail to the planets surface without going overboard on the effects. What I ended up with might not work for all but I am pleased with the overall results and thought I'd share.
Overall this Reshade preset makes the universe a little darker, but adds some vibrancy to the colours and mainly reduces the often "blurry" look of the surface textures on planets to appear more "detailed"
Not sure how well the screenshots will show it but I tried to do some comparisons. I would say you need to try it and see to get the full effect!
Horizons Detail FX
Is my original preset. Make the game, slight darker but more vibrant in colours, with a heavy adjustment to the sharpening effects.
Horizons Detail FX v2.0
This is a modified version of the original. The game isn't as dark, the colours more in line with vanilla but still more vibrant. The main adjustment is the level of sharpness, this helps with certain over sharpening of rocks for example when on a planets surface but still offering more detailed compared to the Vanilla settings.

And an amateur video...
Again vanilla is left, Horizons Detail FX right.
This is my first video recording and upload so please dont expect anything to exciting! A little SRV driving, takeoff, system jump and planetary approach.
Tried to move the screen left and right over the same areas so you can see the difference. Best viewed in fullscreen HD

Extract to a location of your choice
Make a backup copy of your GraphicsConfiguration.xml (incase you wish to revert back to your own UI colours etc)
Copy the 3 files and the Reshade folder from inside the extracted folder
Paste into your game install directory, should be something like C:\Frontier\EDLaunch\Products\FORC-FDEV-D-1010\ or, D:\Games\EDLaunch\Products\elite-dangerous-64
To switch On/Off in game press the "Scroll Lock" Key
To Uninstall
Simply delete the files you pasted into the game directory.
Replace your backup of GraphicsConfiguration.xml if you used mine.
OR
Run validate game files from the ED launcher
Notes
I have included my GraphicsConfiguration file, which includes some tweaks to the way the milky way looks (not my settings, credit to whoever came up with these originally
I mainly use a projector for gaming so the overall brightness may not be suitable for some, you could try using the ingame gamma slider to compensate.
I have no noticeable FPS drop when using this preset (even around planets), I run on Windows 10 with an i7 processor 16GB of ram and a GTX 970. Apologies but i have not tested how this effects lower end PC's
Final Thoughts
If any CMDR does get around to trying it I hope you enjoy!
