Today I went back to the game and I had only one UA.
Took UA, threw it on the ground, dismissed ship.
Found cargo, called ship...
One UA was in SRV, one in the Ship.
Moved both UAs in SRV - game crashed
"Сonnection Error
Fatal error on the transaction server. Press OK to return to the main menu."
EDIT: After the crash - one UA again.

Okay so, this is just me speculating VERY quickly about things I don't fully understand yet BUT hear me out;
- The competition to Canonn is a guy called Palin
- Palin wants to construct a research lab in Maia
- For this to happen, there is a community goal to take things (I forget the commodity name) to the Dahan system
Am I correct so far?
Well, aren't we also coming across the discovery of some new Metal Alloy thingies? There are only 2 stations in Dahan. One is ''Dahan Gateway''.
The other is a small outpost called ''Dahan 3 Metalworks''

Again, I'm all new to this. I have no idea how common 'metalwork' stations are or even how to do the CG. I can't find it in the interface. Still, there's my 2p worth before I have to run to work.
I'm hoping in a few days I will have an exploration Asp fully fitted and will be ready to help you guys completely. I'm enjoying this a lot

Land on the surface outpost Nelsons Works check the Bulletin board and you should see the community goal mission
I think we should make finding meta-alloys the new priority. whether being sold at stations, or floating in SSs in space. There's probably another spawn shell for them. May be the same as UA shell, may not be, but everyone being at Maia and Merope limits our number of explorers.
We got people asking for new hints 2 days after update, when this meta-alloy thing popped up. Truth is we don't know what the 'Large Barnacle' reference is. First time those words have showed up. All we know is there's a link between 'Large Barnacles' (which are alien entities) and meta-alloys. Meta alloys are found "in space" (Which I assume is not a bug or mislabel and they are found floating off planet). Find one, search the system for alien entities. I believe this is the hint we should be working on. Its new, and fresh. Let the NPC (Palin) work on UAs while we find this meta-alloy and alien entities.

Thanks very much! I'm still getting used to this whole thing. My past adventures involved mostly just grinding Merits for Hudson. Pay aside I'm not finding him very rewarding anymore haha

Well spotted with the metal connection to Palin.
They are called Meta-Alloys, by the way and no one has reported finding one yet.
Meta-Alloys are according to the description, found in space. What 'found in space' means is off course debatable, but most likely it means they can be found (exclusively?) off planet.
Meta-Alloys are valuable commodities, but they are also the only lead to 'Large Barnacles'.
Could very well be a 'Meta-Alloys in space = Large Barnacle on the ground scenario.
And their king, Dwayne Johnson.
I've been venturing around merope's moons and I've found a base at a POI on Merope 5B or 5A. I'm unsure if this is just RNG like the downed NAV beacons are or not. Anyway the base consisted of two buildings (pyramid looking but with the top cut off) that are clearly human but without any identifiable markings. There was a pile of tea between them.
I do feel like we might get more answers from SSS or USS now that the new mission system is in place.

There are lots of them, all over the moons. Sometimes it's tea, sometimes it's gold.
You can spot them from your ship fairly easily.

Has anybody tried dropping a UA on a planet along with a bunch of metals, maybe the UA could change the properties of the metal or vice versa. Sorry if it's already been done. I'm new too
You can't jettison materials once they are scooped. You would have to bring the UA to the material, before scooping.

I am making my way towards the homeworld, picking up some rares on the way. I will check if any stations actually sell meta-alloys, but I hold no hopes. I will also do the community goal, it looks like a low profit margin, but I am broke, so low profit it is.
A side note: in chemestry, the prefix meta can denote compounds fomed via dehydration. It can also refer to specific carbon-based compounds. Just found it interesting

The tinfoil is strong with this one and it's about to get stronger if you look into Maia B1B and its moon B1Ba.
Starting from Dahan... yes the cursed Dahan gateway which was known to be haunted and claimed the lives and credits of many new pilots back in the beta days... a fitting and creepy way to start on this part of the story... (long story)
I spent last night checking out Palin's new place and I have a few observations to make.
1. His new moon is a very small (528KM radius)
2. Gravity is VERY low .06G
3. Orbits 4.76Mm B1B and it fills half your view when it comes up.
4. Ultimately orbits a black hole Maia B which is visible (somewhat) from the surface
5. He has neighbors a couple of LS away as there is a small Ant Hill Mob Outpost.
Now I'm glad I bought the rights to a couple of Aluminum mines because here it goes.
Palin wants a lab in the Pleiades to get up close and personal with UAs, Merope and potentially Thargoids from Pleiades lore.... something that due to the low gravity he can potentially emulate as close to Zero G conditions as possible, but he may not be 100% good natured.. he intends on building a floating lab (on the smaller moon) and use the larger moon as a natural quarantine area he can observe with naked eye if he wants to... plus factor in he's 300K LS away from the main station so "help" for his neighbors is not fast to come by should he decide that he needs some "live test subjects" for his "experiments"... as for the black hole? I'd say that's nature's best garbage compactor and probably where he'll ditch all the evidence should he start raising some questions with the authorities.... or if things get out of hand with his experiments.
That's my theory.
