To the far rim in a Sidey

To the far rim and back again in a Sidey

As per my thread "To the core in a Sidey":

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/202949

which I completed tonight with many sighs of relief, I have now decided to continue my journey to the far rim of the galaxy.

My general target will be Beagle Point even though I have no chance of making it that far with my pathetic 21.8LY (Edit: 21.47LY) max jump range. However, I want to see just how far I can go in a sidey and see if I can beat Cmdr R4nger0's record.

But more importantly, I really want to meet up with the guys/gals travelling in the Distant Worlds mission, starting in January.

As previously, I will attempt to post my journey for those interested in following.

Is it possible to jettison materials? If so you could borrow some jumponium from the other DW commanders and make a boost to reach beagle point.

Congrats on reaching the core btw :)

Can't rep you anymore Cmdr Fraudster :D

p.s. you really just want the achievement don't you ? :)

Congrats on reaching the core btw :)

hey frawd what if someone ran you some Jumponoium while you were out there?

Thanks guys...I guess you guys who can make jumponium would have to do some research along these lines. It would be cool if you could but I seem to remember somebody saying that it wasn't possible.

Thanks dognosh...absolutely. Mind you I am now going to have to change my scan style since I have been fast jumping and only scanning ELW and WW. Not a recipe for high credit payouts!

Day 24 completed:

Number of Jumps: 14 (spent much time exploring systems and zipping around planets)
Total Jumps (24 days): 1634
Avg Jumps / day: 68.1
Total Distance Travelled: 54,397LY (Day 24) - 21,929LY (Day 0) = 32,468LY
Avg Distance / Jump: 19.9 LY

Distance to SOL: 26,275.47LY

Distance to CEECKIA ZQ-L C24-0 (Beagle Point): 39,012.05LY
Estimated Number of Jumps: 1,960.4
Estimated Number of Days: 28.8
ETA at Beagle Point*: 17/01/3302
(*Highly unlikely I can actually make it that far)

Found 1 WW for a total of 91 (1 WW / 18.0 systems)
Found 2 ELW for a total of 8 (1 ELW / 204.2 systems)
Found 0 AW for a total of 4 (1 AW / 408.5 systems)
Found 0 BH for a total of 1 (1 BH / 1,634.0 systems)

WW & ELW (the ELW were a binary pair);

I also made my very first planetary landing. It will also be my last one on this adventure since i landed as softly as possible but with no shields it cost me 3% hull...lesson learned:

And more fun in a binary system:

No katejina, he is a loon !!! :D

LOL, it was a bit nuts, but I can't go months without trying a landing...what's the worst thing that could have happened?

(oh, yeah, I could have blown up and found myself back in SOL with no data) ;)

mhhh, me don't see a certain Sidewinder explorer declare his intention in this thread to become part of the incoming list.
When such a thing happens it's reported that Dark RNGods start to throw a lot of close binaries in the route plotter of these incautius CMDRs.

I have a great appreciation for the rear-thrusters of ships, honestly... I don't know what it is, they just seem so majestic. Now that I think about it, I do find myself studying the rear end of cars, too.

But that planet is truly stunning, I love the marbled top layer!

Frawd Digger route to the 65K (sry, ofc i had to mispell your name in the map, becouse I'm completly unable to not put some mistake in everything i do it seems)
