UA Mystery thread 4 - The Canonn

Usually I don't like to peek into someone else's code, unless it's a job I have to do. In this particular case it's also against EULA rules, but most because it spoils the fun in a moment.
So, no, I did not look in the code, I just opened a couple of folders, like I'm sure another hundreds people have done already ;)
I'll repeat myself, again: there is a trailer showing some new strange fascinating thing on some planet's surface. Barnacles, Barnicles, or Bornicles, I don't care. That thing is in the game, exactly like the UA in the wings trailer.
That said, someone is free to do whatever he likes.
For me the game is alive if I have something to find. For you is alive if someone else finds it. Different views of playing it seems :D

You got me wrong. The game would be alive for me if I'd know if it's actually possible to find interesting hidden things in the game.

I either need devs to tell us straight that there are things we can find out there and they are already active and possible to find (besides UAs). Or some hacker/''folder crawler'' to tell me that he's seen it in the folder and then found it in game. And not spoil the fun by sharing screenshots and information with people about those things - just mention that it's confirmed that they are possible to find.

Because with season mechanics I never really know if devs already put stuff in game of planning to add it later during the season.

UPD: and let's agree on calling them Boronicles

What I really fear at the moment is that we see no Barnacles because the folder is named Barnicles and is a typo. That would be really good

Great, are you suggesting all of our ships are now smeared in some kind of blue-hued space-semen?

Gather it and sell it as "space blue curacao".
Will definitely put spice in some drinks.
I figure, if i had a bar in E: D somewhere near the Aquila constellation, i'd mix that stuff;)

If there's a mission asking you to find Meta-Alloys, you don't need a dev to tell you they are in game. Unless it's a bugged mission of course. ;)
So we can already start looking for them, whatever they are.

I am quite new to this whole UA endeavour, and I am currently ~135 Ly from merope and had a lot of UAs. What puzzled me now is that the UA I am now encountering is moving at around 7 m/s in direction of a nearby planet.

Was this already discovered ?

Anyway I will try to land on that planet and see what I might find.

If that's confirmed to be happening, movement is new behavior. What system / planet is this?

Alright guys, story time. I went out to Maia in Pleiades last night and met this CMDR in a Courier in open play last night. We spoke for a bit and we went to land on the planet next to Obsidian Orbital. He dumped a UA right in front of me then promptly told me he had to go. http://i.imgur.com/U4z5vg6.png Now I have a UA and no cargo racks to pick it up, suggestions? Should I analyze it?

The UA i dropped at full stop in normal space around Merope's sun did move slowly.
It kept the head pointing at the sun, and it drifted into a specific direction.
Couldn't make out where however.

You won't be tending bar at any party any time soon that's for damn sure.

Heh;)
A lot of people however claim to have seen RAXXLA after having a drink.
Sure you don't fancy a shot of "vision jelly"?

You got me wrong again (this time it's my fault I think). UAs and then Boronacles are introduced to us by devs with trailers and in-game texts. There are other special things in game folders according to your post. I want to know if they are already there somewhere in the galaxy waiting for me to be found - not just pieces of fake/inactive code put in the game folder to mislead folder crawlers.

I'd also want to know if 1.5 (me) people are not excluded from this Barnacle mystery. I'd really love to hear from Michael Brooks an official statement on this.

Just a few days ago I took part in Jeffrey's Treasure Hunt (after reading galnet article) and after half-day of finding a clue and searching for next I was told by lead game designer that because of circumstances treasure hunt was launched half-baked and I need to stop and they'll add new content to play with later. I fear other hidden things in game might be in same state - are in need of being added to the game

Hey everyone!

I've been absent a while (work keeping me busy and now summer sun distracting) and been catching up (lots to catch up on!).

Just thought I'd throw my baseless speculation into the ring: what if the green glowy objects from the trailer are 'grown' from UAs? We just need to find a nice moon to 'plant' them on, and let them grow!

What if they're seed-like 'generation ships' for the Unknown Entities, that contain everything they need to bootstrap a colony? Once they find a nice object to cling on to (a station/ship/planetoid) they 'sprout', gathering raw materials from the surroundings (the damage they do) and then grow incubation pods to produce members of their race for the colony from stored genetic materials/'eggs', along with shelters and energy sources.

As for the meta-alloys: anyone poked around any planetary rings or asteroids? They might just be a new rare material to mine, using conventional mining equipment. We've just got to find the 'barnacles' floating in space, clinging to a rock.

Tinfoil your head before reading this:
Just heard a song on ED Christmas live - about UAs and their ''strange noises coming from underground''?!

I'm not sure if they have always driftet, perhaps yes. Anyway could be an hint about them willing to land on some planet. Worth following them :D
Or better checking the planet as you're doing already.

A christmas hint or just the need for a rhyme? :D

J'Zhargo if you're already around planets with a UA please check what you hear if you deploy the artifact from srv then lift off with the ship. Stay close to the UA and please check if you hear morse.
I don't and i ask someone to make a cross check for days.

Aw damn...
