What happens when you reach the elite rank?

To all those elite level commanders.

After over a year playing, I am finally close to Elite rank in trading. I am currently sitting at 97% at the tycoon level.

What happens when you hit Elite?

Some kind of congratulations pop up maybe ? or more likely does nothing happen?

You get a congratulations to your comms & receive Shinrarta Dezhra permit.

Well, first of all, you get a little message pop up in your inbox with a nice little animated message from the Pilots Federation saying "Congrats old chap - you made it. The road was long and hard, but we are happy to finally bestow upon you the esteemed rank of ELITE!". Or, words to that effect.

Next, you sit back in your chair and bask in all of your well fought glory. And maybe have a cup of tea. Then you tell all of your mates, the none ED familiar among whom will look at you like you are a crazy person. Don't worry... this will pass.

From then on, you will be granted access to all of the finest bars that Jameson Memorial has to offer in the Fabled Shinrarta Dezhra system.

I recently achieved Elite in Trading, and got the relevant email. As I joined in Beta, I already had the Founders World permit (which, amongst other things, gives you access to a 10% discount on ALL ships and equipment (with the required rank now being the only restricting factor). You will also have the Elite (trading) decal the next time you log in.

Thanks guys for the quick response. I am genuinely excited. I played the original games too and never hit the elite level, so this truly a first.

Once I get it in trading, I will focus on combat. I am at master level, so have a way to go.

Shinrarta Dezhra permit is probably the biggest thing.

But for me, it was finally being able to do the "Elite/Founder" required missions. They're no different from regular missions but always annoyed me when I saw them in the list.

It is an incredibly satisfying feeling, that decal just looks so good too. I got elite in exploration first, I was so happy when I finally got that message in my inbox! Jameson is really nice to be able to visit too if you're having a hard time finding a particular module. I am close to elite in combat (deadly 68%) and am really looking forward to accessing all those locked up missions! Trading is going to be tough, as is CQC since I seem to be unable to get into a match at all.....
