New (and experienced) players: "A time for giving" Community Goal! Now with extra tea and biscuits :)

The is really sad, apart from some people not knowing what an "exploit" is - they also miss some vital information.

  • 1) FD moved the Rares timer from 60 minutes to 10 minutes
  • 2) Ed Lewis used this loading method for the Community Live Stream (see below)
  • 3) This "community" goal is being boosted by "community" players.

It is really sad that people want to moan about others having fun in the game or trying to help others.
Just goes to show how petty / nasty some people are if they are not the centre of attention.

There are so many helpful people who play this game, all someone has to do is ask for help and there will be a line of folks willing to lend a hand. So to see people throwing a fit over something FD staff do to load a large ship. Just so disappointing.

Edit;
Almost forgot the live stream video.....

Away from the computer.. How does it go? 4 days left?
4 days 17 h 16 m left. We're almost to tier 2 with 72,091 tons delivered.

As for the people who are mad about players boosting other players for "profit," you guys are not very bright. With the system we're using, it takes about 3-4 hours to make a round trip, because when you show up, you have to wait your turn to be loaded and help load whoever's turn it is. Sometimes it takes 2-3 hours of loading before it's your turn to get loaded. So even if you're getting loaded in an hour, and an hour to do your round trip in a python with 260 cargo, you make 8.4 mil profit. I can make that in 45 minutes elsewhere. This is NOT for the profit, it's about boosting the CG and interacting with other players. If you think spending 3+ hours for 8 mil is good profit, you have a LOT to learn about this game.

I'm a relative noob at the CG thing after an extended jaunt to the rim, the core, and back.

Given the grindy nature of all types of CG, I can't blame anyone for using the game mechanics to do it more efficiently.
Personally, that makes them even more grindy for me, so I'll just continue adding in CGs as an extra stop in my irregular tours around the bubble.

I would've done this CG if the idea was sensible.

Santa clauss is too immersion breaking.
Boycotted.

Because the future doesn't have Christmas, right?

They went a bit beyond 'concept', they weaved it into the game fabric.
Character, Company, Station, System.

So, you want other religious festivals introduced into the game?

Oh, so it's nothing to do with immersion and just you ranting about religion. Got it.

And sure, I would like that. It would be more realistic and I love how the future isn't a static, dull, robotic place where nothing funny happens. And I'm not religious at all.

Honestly, there's always one.

And by then the damage has already been done. People see this thread and very well may not participate at all ( or any more ) + all the people who feel jaded at people pumping out 1200+ tons of this cargo out an hour when it should be closer to less than a 100.

Messes up the rankings.

Ruins the "spirit" of it in the first place.

Why spend your time helping a new player out by offering up your 20 tons, or show them around with the vent, when you can just direct them to a crew holing up at Frost Hub willing to hand out millions or teach you how to yourself.

Edit: And people complained when you could do long distance smuggling runs in Sothis for 20+ million an hour. At least you had to do it all yourself.

I'm confused, I thought the spirit was getting newbies a free ship?

But.. I give all the time!

When an NPC bandit scans me and says "Lets see what you've got", I always cheerfully say "all I have are these, but you may have some"

4PAC plasma cartridges aren't cheap, yaknow.

Started my contributions to this CG today, didn't realize these were going to be rares and brought my Python. After my first run, I switched over to my long range ASP for better hauls. :D I know I sure would have appreciated a better ship than a Sidewinder when I first started! For the Newbies!
