Kilmister Orbital would get my vote as well. It's not like there's any lack of stations that could stand a renaming.

I had the honour of shaking Lemmy's hand and chatting with him for a few minutes as he was leaving Finland in 2008. He toured my country 33 times over the years starting in the 1960's.

We know Lemmy loved videogames. Who knows, maybe he has played Elite too? I think a lawless outpost with the red skulls would be his style rather than a Coriolis or an Orbis. How about Kilmister arsenal?

Excuse my puns - I didnt realise he'd passed away so recently.

His stories of getting booted out of Hawkwind in the States, then promptly getting his leg over all his ex-bandmates girlfirends on return to London as an act of revenge are pure classic. That and his trips to visit his friend, the sci-fi author Michael Moorcock - usually greeted by a note at the door suggesting "If I dont answer the first time, go and **** off! I'm trying to write!".

Absolute legend and will be sadly missed

Go on FD - give him a station, ideally next to the Michael Moorcock hub

It would be a station I would have to visit. The station audio should be louder than all other stations too.

I had no idea there was a station named after my favourite author. I shall have to visit asap.

This has to be done. During beta I gave him a Rift demo since he was a huge gadget and game freak, and he ate up Elite with a spoon. Played a few of the training missions and asked when he could buy one. Sad he never got the chance. I think my ex has pics, I'll try and get some. He was an extremely charming, funny man and one of the nicest "rock stars" I've ever met.

One listen to "Space Ritual" is enough to tell you Lemmy belongs in Elite.

I wasn't really for the idea till I read this. If that's the case, and it sounds like something he'd have appreciated (which I'd not have guessed before), then I think I've changed my mind.

Sorry for the loss all his fans are feeling - that'd be true either way.
