New Paint job De-cals and ship customisation!

We all like our ships to look special, don't we?.. Its like the Black Friday paint jobs for example; they look really good but I cant bring myself to slap it on because I know every Cmdr and his dog is using it. I want my ship to be unique!

I am hoping this is in development but has anyone heard any whisperings of DeCals or stickers that Cmdrs can add to ships for customisation? Id love it to happen and if so what "Decals" or "Stickers" would you want to see

Id like to see:


  • Smaller Country flags
  • Company Logo's - Lakon etc
  • The ability to Christen your ship - type the name of the ship and it would appear on a set location just like applying your Combat Rank for example
  • The logo of your PP power

Just an idea which im sure someone else must have mentioned but Id love to hear other peoples thoughts and perhaps we could get Frontiers attention if this thread gets enough of it.

You would think that country flags would have been done by now, sounds like such a good idea, in fact the general lack of new microtransaction items on a regular basis suggests to me that FD are not overly keen on filling their store up with loads of stuff. That does actually seem quite admirable, because they really could have gone to crazy town with the paintjobs and stuff, just look at Mechwarrior Online - new bloody paints and deals and patterns every five minutes!

yes, i was thinking some basic ones could (and probably should be free) like company logos for example! If they wanted to make some premium ones they could put on the store I would rather that than not have customisation at all. At leasts its up to us whether we bought them or not.

I agree though you dont want it turning into MechW online!

haha, not small as in population... Smaller as in the size of a wing or one you could place on the side of your ship. Ideally one you could re-size and spin to place anywhere on your ship but not covering the whole thing from top to bottom like a livery.

I don't know why Frontier is so slow to add stuff to customize our ships. One paintjob (plus the black Friday one) for the Anaconda? Just one?
I'll grind for customizations, I'll pay for them, whatever hoops Frontier want me to jump through. Just... ADD THEM already! :)

Company logos, Lakon, etc, generally are already on the ships, and inside them as well, so...

Country flags, no thanks, the countries we have now don't exist in 3301, so no reason to have those flags. Now, PP faction logos, Federation/Empire/Alliance logos, those would be awesome. Minor faction logos, which would need to be created, would also be awesome. Custom logos for the various player groups would be even MORE awesome.

As for MechWarrior Online and their plethora of goodies in the store, I can't see that being a bad thing, PGI makes most of their money off those, and that's why they have SO many of them and are constantly adding more. Colours, paint jobs/camo, cockpit goodies from bobbleheads to flags and speakers that play sounds when you get a kill(you and everyone within a certain distance are supposed to hear that sound when it plays, some of them suck, some of them are rather cool), there's so much that PGI offers for MWO that it's mind boggling...and it's profitable, key word there, profitable. And the players LOVE it, I've got friends who have spent thousands on that stuff, they own every single colour, every single paint job for every single Mech that exists and they are constantly waiting for more.

I'd love to be able to see a selection of actual camos or patterns for each ship, and colours that I could mix and match with or without those camo/patterns. I'd drop money for those, I already own every paint job for the Clipper and half of them for the Asp. Come on FD, take my money...

:D thats the spirit Hanna, go forth and show your support... gather the forces for good in the galaxy! Or perhaps just start a petition or something! We shall force our love for logos on frontier and gosh darn it we might even pay for it!
