So I've decided to make use of my Xbox save as a pirate save. PC save for me very much remains a hardcore miner.

Anyone got any tips for a starting-out plunderer of the seven nebulae? :D

When I used to pirate people, I flew a Cobra MkIII. There are probably better ships for that available now, maybe the MkIV? Or an ASP? Depends what you mean by "pirate". If you just want to kill people, Vulture :)

Oh no. I'm pirating in the truest sense of the word. I'll be targeting traders & miners, and will give them ten seconds to drop cargo. Then I'll target their thrusters. Ideally, I won't destroy any ships. Of course that isn't going to be the reality...

Join The Code, of course! There is no alternative!

*Chuckles in the background, yes I know you play in Mobius, and no there's no Code presence on Xbox as far as I am know.*

Ah that's no problem. I'm doing this on Xbox because I just don't care what happens to my Xbox pilot's reputation. LOL

PC is a little different, as I RP real heavily, I mean REALLY heavily, and I like to just mind my own business on this platform. End of the day FD received almost £100 from me for the licenses I have, so I feel no guilt about my play-style choices. :)

Sure, glad to help. Buy a Hauler, fit it with Mahon's Retribution lasers and get interdicting.

A tip from a trader with zero tons of cargo to spare. :D

Buy a Clipper. 435+ m/s. High mass lock, lots of internals. Alternatively, the FAS could be a great option. Only problem is that it is a bit slower.

OR get a few more hundred mil and buy a Cutter. Highest mass lock, 350+ m/s, insane shields.

Piracy is probably the least efficient method of earning money in the game by a staggering margin (seriously -- I could probably make more money by mission grinding in any generic station). So, my advice would be... just don't. You'd make a trader's life miserable for a paltry, almost meaningless amount of money.

Then again, good luck finding traders that play in Open, to begin with. Trading / mining in Open Play is just about senseless.

My first thought would be an Asp. I'm not sure about "pirating", but it's a real nice ship for collecting tolls. ;) A wingman in something like an FDL might be handy as well.

It's not all about the money. The game should be fun, even if it costs you.

Well you are just a sour influence, aren't you now? :^)
